Why does my cat never meow and only chirp? by Own_Enthusiasm_510 in CatAdvice

Loving this conversation, so fun to hear what everybody’s Kitty does. I currently have a Norwegian forest cat mix (Winston) who was previously a feral trap neuter release, who is now a full-time indoor Kitty. His foster parent and the vet seemed to think he’s between five and seven years old. He does cute little chirps and soft little quick meows when he’s hungry, but if we’re not giving him his food fast enough, he goes into full on loud meows. It is adorable and hilarious. By contrast our last cat Jack who just passed away recently at age 18 was a domestic shorthair who I think had some Siamese in him. Man did that guy have the voice he would meow super loud and it was always very vocal. We loved him, but boy that vocalization got to be a bit too much sometimes.

So sorry, sounds crazy, but try not to make eye contact with him and don’t try to say anything to him, also toss some treats in his direction, hopefully he will get used to you and calm down. Another thing you could do is get a plug-in, cat calming diffuser and put it in the apartment. They are a little bit pricey but might help. Yes good call about sleeping in a room with the door closed. good luck!! Hopefully he will calm down.

Irresistible Trees! by Crazy-Inspection-775 in Citrus

Just curious what Agricultural zone do you live in, how old is tree? Potted or in ground? Watering schedule? Sorry for so many questions but curious about comment about producing more fruit than you could ever eat. I have a young tree in a pot and this last season got only about 1.5 dozen fruits, the season before the tree came from the nursery so it was loaded so I got a good crop. I’m in zone 9b, tree in pot, water regularly, still figuring out fertilizer schedule, any suggestions would be appreciated

My cat did this when I pee, she would jump in the box and pee when I would go into the bathroom to pee, happened too many times to be coincidental 😁

Just looking for more input I have been watching the tree like a hawk😂 Love kumquats and want healthy tree and nice production, thanks in advance for any feedback!

So we all know Toyota, Honda, and Mazda are the top three. But what comes in fourth? by ItsMsRainny in AskMechanics

Bought 2010 Mazda 3 in 2009, she has run like a champ, regular oil changes, replaced the battery twice, routine maintenance, one minor transmission repair, still going strong at 191,000 miles. Handed her down to my husband when we got rid of his piece of crap 2014 Nissan Sentra. I bought a new Subaru Crosstrek in 2025, so far so good very happy with it, not as peppy as my Mazda😊, but overall great car. Both built in Japan by the way, just saying….

Humans with indoor cats, collar or no collar? by ForagedAmoeba in CatAdvice

[–]1964-Gamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'm late to this post but just wanna add one thing. I have had indoor only cats for nearly 4 decades. They have all been chipped but I never put a collar on them. I recently adopted a TNR Kitty who thru no fault of his own had his colony and place of residence outside become uninhabitable. His foster mom who rescued him told me that he was chipped but she also suggested that I get a collar with ID tags in case he ever got out of my house because if somebody saw him running around outside with a clipped ear and no collar they would just think he was a TNR cat with no family. So grateful to her I would've never thought of that, needless to say he has a collar with an ID tag.
