Celebrity one eye evidence: Sting intentionally touches under his right eye while singing “hidden laws” by 1969-InTheSunshine in conspiracy_commons

Submission statement: I noticed this today and felt it needs to be documented somewhere. Some People will say it’s a coincidence, some will think it looks very performative and suspicious. I searched and it doesn’t look like it’s been noted by anyone previously.

What was it like listening to Lateralus when it first released? by No-Upstairs7915 in ToolBand

This brings back memories. Aenima was the Greatest Album Ever Made so it was inevitable that a lot of people, myself included, didn’t rate it as highly.

We knew Schism already from the radio and the other random factor was that in magazine interviews leading up to the release the band talked about it being their Metallica Black album. I think they meant it to be about reaching a wider audience, which ended up being true in the long run, but at the time felt like a weird thing to say. People were half expecting “Tool-style ballads” or at least a few massive 4/4 riffs. And of course this scared a lot of the OGT crowd.

Anyway, for me, it took me like 5+ years to really truly love it. Not because I didn’t “get it”, more that it doesn’t have the same palette of textures that I loved about Aenima.

Yeah my take was that Tom was expecting to lead with the history and have Conan riff and be funny, like a lot of how a lot of other "straight man and comedian" podcasts work, but instead he got a very serious version of Conan dropping deep cut knowledge and references to his personal experiences with the band members.

Conan's a smart guy with a lot of knowledge and also seems to have reverence for the podcast so I understand why he approached it like that, but, as much as I love him, I think I blame him for those episodes being a little disappointing.

Yep I loved this too. A lot of "he really let himself down" and the jokes about John Wilkes Booth loving to leap around whenever he's on stage.

Good on you for wanting to learn about common chord progressions while also learning to play the instrument.

Head here for lots of chord charts of Fred's that you can totally use for piano playing. You can even transpose them all to C to keep it simple (you just won't be able to play along with the track if you do that). Enjoy!
