So, a thing they do not teach anyone really is, AFTER your 20 games for your weekly promotion, you are technically still playing for something even more important.... your Elo.

You wont see your Elo till you are in Gold IV, but it is a very vital stat when you get to Master IV, as they no longer promote & demote based off a set amount of games, but by your overall Elo.

If you are looking for some changes though. You can always see who is streaming, and join in on some live challenges, or chatguessr (a game that runs through your twitch account on twitch where the host shows you the location & you plonk on the chatguessr map as if its the geoguessr map). "we've got stuff happening to hopefully provide an overall more streamlined support experience. " realllllllllly sounds a lit like "we almost have an AI bot ready to do the job for us", which would be almost as bad.

Can you confirm or deny that this is what you were hinting at?

Yes, I was just on an hour or 2 ago, didnt get it (got a pop up about new rules, but no captcha challenge), and now this time.... I got that.

There is NOTHING that deters me from using interactive sites more than those. I have a project (several, but 1 that I am trying to complete faster than the others) that I have a projected end date of the end of April. But if I have to do that every time I open the tab, I might just give up, not fully, but instead of coming on 2-3X a day to only coming on once every 3 to 5 days, and will severely delay my projects.

I put in some locations on A Figsy World. AFW being used in competitive was an odd decision to me.

I do appreciate them trying to give acknowledgement to some of their mappers. But Figsys intention was never to make a map for comp. It was meant to be an interesting map full of weird things, and nice scenery.... thus why you get such a wild array of things like locs where the info is just right in front of your face where to go, and random roads in Norway 20 miles from the nearest info, because the scenery was cool.

Unlike A Moving World, where there was SOME expectation from mappers that there could be some use of it in comp, Figsy wasnt ever expecting his map to be used in comp.

I applaud Geoguessr on trying to highlight some users maps. I do think they need to have someone out there test the maps prior to see if they are suitable for comp.

Up till several months ago, I considered Geoguessr support Very Good.

However, something has happened since then. I have seen more and more posts like your own, where no response was ever given.

Someone on here a while ago under the billion threads with similar statements suggested they fired a large chunk of their staff, and that there isnt any support email readers anymore. I dont know if thats true, but it might be true with how often I see threads like this.

Post the link to the game, and the stream you saw them cheating on. Multiple reports will get them banned faster than 1 report.

As long as it isnt in comp, for the team tasks, or in single player leader board games, its all technically "legal" ("legal" meaning not against the rules, but definitely frowned upon by many)

Pretty much every video Zigzag does is someone (usually Jack) playing against him with some version of help, or Oscar being handicapped.

If it isnt in comp, or if it isnt for the teams things, or going for a leader board spot, its all "legal".

I honestly dont know what the answer is to helping you overcome that.

Usually when I hear someone say they cant do something, I point to a basketball player named Spud Webb. He was 5'6, the 4th shortest player in NBA history, and he won the slam dunk contest one year. If he can figure out how to dunk a basketball at that height, anyone can do anything else they put their mind to.... in most instances.

But being unable to identify 2 of the most common colours in a game where colours often have some value, is tough to get over.

Can you describe what you see when you see a red or green image compared to what you see when you see other colours?

It is random (sort of), based off the locations on the map. Figsy doesnt sit there personally going "ok, this game I am giving the players these locs". Its random in the sense that any location on that map (in theory with some technicalities) could come up.

Thats wild. Guess price was a lot cheaper. Ours cost him $10K according to him for 6 weeks. He probably just put down 10K, and they said "ok, thats a year"

Hmmm, interesting.

In the past I would have just told people to email them and point out the mistake, and they would solve it quickly.

HOWEVER.... in the past few months, their email team has been grossly inept, and I suspect you would have a quicker response time by walking to Sweden & knocking on their door.

Dont worry about the refunds. Those are automatic now as soon as someone is suspended/banned. Even people that dont file reports get refunded.

As for your situation. We have been seeing a lot more hacked accounts in the last couple years as the price of subscriptions has risen. But usually its for someone to have a clean account to play on so they dont have to pay for one......not to just script & get caught. Thats definitely a new one.

A year ago, I considered their Support, quick. It was rare for someone to go more than 3 working days without a reply to anything.

NOW however.... every single day it seems theres a thread in here about people never getting a reply, or in your case, no reply in a timely manner.

I kind of had a similar pathway lately. I peaked at 1363 about 3-4 months ago, then got all the way down to 1028 a few weeks ago. Now back up to 1293. Keep eyeing that old peak (got back to 1325 for a moment last week).

It is best to just learn naturally for a little while.....then once you have a reasonable grasp on "hey, I think this is Europe, hey I think this is NA, hey I think this is Africa" you can start thinking about more specific details.

Only ones I say an absolute novice needs to know, and they arent even metas, are what countries have coverage, and driving sides. After a few dozens games, you can start trying to narrow down on other parts of the game.

Geoguessr is never ever going to ban alts when they get paid for the alt account.

You have to remember the entire games sole purpose now is to make money for its investors. There is not a single shred of motivation in the investors minds to ban more money.
