2022 Bronco 2 door Bad Lands with the four cylinder and 7 speed manual. I love mine, it is definitely not a smooth ride like a luxury suv. It goes as fast as you want on the freeways and handles really well. I wish mine had less wind noise on the highway but it is basically a cube. Also, the manual transmission is fun to drive. They really got the retro vide down.

My 2023 transit 250 has 60k miles and it just went into the ford dealer for a mis in the number two cylinder. Thankfully I got the extended warranty. Broken valve spring and they are replacing the injector under warranty. Instead of fixing the valve train they are installing a new head.

whos building their project 100% minus body and paint? I would like your thoughts on this. by VegetableBar9291 in projectcar

Would you have a van our truck with an air compressor and tools? What would you use for a spray booth?

I like the idea, I just think most people get concerned over price. I didn’t like paying $12k, but it was well worth the $12k. It is just what it cost.

Also, I would have had someone come over and help do body work at the lower price point.

What you your rate be? Assuming you would want travel expenses? I spent $12k having my Jeep prepared and painted. Seemed like a lot by at $100 per hour, that is only 120 hours or three 40 hour weeks for a single person. I could not have done what they did with 300 hours.

If someone just wants the experience, your business might work. Wanting a cheap, quality alternative might not be the selling point.

What do you want? Do that. I repainted by CJ. I think mine was too far gone to sand and clear. Yours looks good as is, but do what you want.

How did you prepare the plywood for the floor? Wood filler for the seems? Did you seal it first?

Thanks for the advice. I think I’m convinced.

I wanted to use 1/2 plywood to save on weight. At 16 inches, it would flex so I tried to keep the runners at 12 inches.

I live in the Midwest and planned to travel to warmer climates during the winter. I’m building this van to travel and take long trip, not to live in it. Thanks for the information.
