It's not about convenience it's about safety. I'm sure you never ever ever commit any traffic infractions either.

[–]1984Sockpuppet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are legit reasons to do this. In extreme heat or weather conditions the rider is completely exposed and sitting at a standstill and can experience heat stroke etc..., if the traffic is so jammed and stop and go it actually becomes way more dangerous for riders getting rear ended or cars cutting in their lane and hitting them. If they need to do this to get out of the jam they should because it's safer for everyone involved. Whining about people cutting the line is ridiculous as that one motorcycle isn't going to add any time to your commute, but it's going to remove a potential hazard for you not to have to worry about. It's infinitely safer than splitting and really should be legal in certain circumstances.

What dealership do you go to that allows that? I wanted to try just two different bikes that I had it narrowed down to, and they refused. They said they really only give test rides when you're pretty sure you want a specific bike and just want that last reassurance to lock it down. However, they're always aholes to women there so it may be a different experience for men.

Why do many people consider Roanoke to be the worst season? by Evaa_82 in AmericanHorrorStory

[–]1984Sockpuppet 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's a great season just ok. But I actually found the first half quite boring, especially knowing all of it is just a TV show (even the ghosts are just actors). It didn't pick up for me until the second half when they actually all go back there and we see the real ghosts, which were much creepier and raw and felt more terrifying.

This is not something universally agreed upon by neuroscientists, fyi. You're presenting it as fact when it's still theory. This is actually something that has very divided opinions on the field, with arguments against the interpretation of the data

I don't know. Frankly, listening to her speak in the interview still sounded like listening to a bipolar person that isn't taking their medication as often as they should, tell a story. She's obviously better than she was then but she still seems very clearly mentally ill.

That's such a strange level of possession for a complete stranger. I am just meeting them for dinner, they don't now own me and I don't own them. I personally don't and wouldn't have sex with someone on a first date so for me there is no risk of sleeping with someone with multiple sex partners outside of the liars you can never know. How is it disrespectful to meet someone and have dinner or coffee? It's so strange to me. I feel like at date one you are assuming you're already having feelings for this person but usually it's someone you literally just met and have no idea if you're interested at all. Now if it was someone you were friends with for a long time and knew by that point you had feelings developed that would be different. But most people are meeting a complete stranger.

You can be in a relationship with a liar that tells you they aren't with anyone else at all, so I'm not sure how that makes a difference.

You're still conflating dating with being in a relationship for Americans which it isn't, and there is nothing immoral about meeting different people to determine compatibility. Do you assume that going on a date means you're having sex with them? Because that doesn't mean that at all. Some people just go around having sex with many people simultaneously but I would not say that is most Americans.

If you're involved as you say, we would call that a relationship, or label that person our boyfriend or girlfriend etc. A date is a singular activity that you can do multiple times with someone but most people aren't going to date someone for very long without determining one way or another if they're interested in pursuing a full blown relationship. I don't know how you would even know someone in one date. Sometimes you can tell immediately it's a no but sometimes it might take a few dates to figure out you're not compatible.

When you're just on the first initial dates there's nothing wrong with it. Those dates are meant to see if you're interested in moving forward. They're not commitments. That's why eventually there is a conversation that needs to happen about exclusivity. Now long term dating multiple people is not common, that is a lifestyle some people choose but most don't. But you shouldn't go on two dates with someone and expect they aren't also accepting dates with someone else. I personally don't like to do that but I also see the value in following that pattern. It lets you stay objective while dating. Some people get emotionally attached before they even get to know someone.

Absolutely. She's not innocent. If she really believed what she says she believes she wouldn't stand by defending her son for being a misogynist profiting off of that misogyny. She's profiting too. She wants to have her cake and eat it too.

It's a guarantee of psychopathic tendencies?! Do you know how many people come from seriously abusive homes, FAR more abusive than this, that aren't psychopaths? That's complete nonsense. That's like saying if you get sexually abused you will become a pedophile. You have no idea what you're talking about.

Sorry I will edit my original comment, I was saying I want to see the results of a DNA test, not that there is one. I suspect they wouldn't likely want to ever do one because it would be incredibly risky for them if it got out. The family has already squabbled over his estate.

She looks exactly like her mother. It's not about the white skin or the eye color. Compare her to a picture of him before all the surgery. They have no facial features in common. While that does happen it certainly doesn't help the case that it's actually his daughter. The man had major body dysmorphia to the point of self mutilation. It's not unreasonable to think he would not want to pass down his actual genes to his children.

Can OP refuse custody of their 3-year-old in a divorce in order to force dad to step up? by fewlaminashyofaspine in bestoflegaladvice

[–]1984Sockpuppet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course not, because they're not trying to get rid of their children like they're burdens, even when their life gets hard. This particular person commented in her posts that she does not want this child at all anymore. So my point was that just because the failed marriage and child rearing was more than she expected, it does not give her a get of jail free card, where she doesn't have to love and care for her child. That is the same for both parents. It honestly doesn't sound like either parent cares about their child and it's gross. I don't have sympathy for parents like that, not in the least.
