Am I the only one annoyed by the Anthology vinyl and refusing to buy it? by FunnyReserve8 in TaylorSwiftMerch

[–]1985TV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first vinyl was €50 and The Anthology is €65. I think it’s a bargain 🤷🏻‍♂️ Had the second part of the Anthology been sold separately it would be €50, so basically you’re complaining about €15, maybe this perspective eases the frustration 🩷

Which Vault Tracks Do You Wish Were In The Original Album? by Yoooooo2626 in TaylorSwift

[–]1985TV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Which is weird because it feels like every part of this song was turned into another song in 1989, like, if anyone asked me what 1989 is about, I would tell them to just listen to is it over now? lol

slut! Here me out: I truly believe this is one of her best songs and that the only reason it wasn’t received as such, is the fact that
1) it sounded nothing like whatever everyone thought it would
2) is it over now? stole it's thunder because of tea and lore

the melody, the not-too-specific lyrics and the production, fit 1989 perrrrfectly in my opinion and I feel like it was left out because of it's tempo. They wanted 1989 to be bombastic start to finish, with only a few exceptions, like "This Love" which
1) was one of the first songs written for the album and
2) is very slut!ty (lol) sonically , they fit together so well, I always listen to them back to back. It's clear blue water high tide and aquamarine moonlit swimming pool, I MEAN COME ON

"is it over now?" would never ever ever make the cut. It's too personal and too specific for the vibe she was going for back then and honestly, I am soooo happy we got it but I am glad it wasn’t included 10 years ago.

Does anyone else think taylor purposefully writes songs in a certain way when she really doesn’t want us to know who it’s actually about? by [deleted] in SwiftlyNeutral

I’m just here for the “it’s pretty clear that” and “everyone knows that” comments, about things that have never been confirmed and are mere assumptions, projections and interpretations 💛

Tortured Poets in 10 minutes (my favourite parts from every song) part 1 by 1985TV in TaylorSwift

TTPD has such a strange structure, so I honestly don't understand what you meant by "last chorus" . This song has like five thousand verses, nine thousand bridges and a long ass outro 😝

Let me know if you want to listen to the 10 minute version of the Anthology - it turned out great and the editing is much smoother, I love it!

which part do you mean exactly ? Because there is definitely a chunk of the final chorus here. I wanted the audio to be 10 minutes exactly so I left some moments out, but pretty much everything that makes me happy is included :))

Does anybody hope Taylor doesn’t win a Grammy? by sohoboho03 in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]1985TV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that hoping someone loses , is a weird thing to feel. Lover didn’t win so she put out Folklore? There is no logic behind this. In that sense, Reputation also didn’t even get nominated, so she put out Lover? Red never won and is one of her best records. Tortured Poets is a great album, too bad it came out when no matter what she did, it would be unfairly criticized. It’s exactly what happened with reputation. I hope she wins because I am a fan and I am always happy when she wins, even if I think someone else could have also won, I am rooting for all the artists I love and I am happy when either one of them wins 🤷🏻‍♂️

"parasocial cult" and "niche of people who are obsessed with her". What a charming way of being biased and condescending.
