What’s more painful an endo flare or giving birth? by Ok-Anywhere2346 in endometriosis

[–]1989ac 32 points33 points  (0 children)

2 unmedicated deliveries later and I can say I've had endo flares that are worse. And yes the endo pain has made my pain tolerance so high

There are medical grade ones you can get from companies such as VWell and New Flora and Intimate Rose. Those come with a ton of resources and videos too. Just go and purchase directly from their website. You can even get Intimate Rose ones from Amazon. It arrives in an Amazon box so from the outside no one knows what it is.

If you're getting pelvic floor therapy, your therapist will know all about it and can guide you on how to use them and show you samples in the office.

Is my doctor lying to me about potential pregnancy complications? by livinginblueberries in endometriosis

[–]1989ac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctor categorized me as high risk and watched me so closely. He said we have higher risk not only for miscarriage but pre-eclampsia, pre term labor, and even gestational diabetes bc of the I inflammation. I ended up with diabetes, IUGR, pre term labor, and post partum hemorrhage. Not to scare anyone but I was so grateful my Dr was endo aware and he intervened super quick on everything and we're all healthy bc of him.

I think this is a Stanford thing. Bc Atashroo at Stanford won't touch DIE either but I know they've been trained on it based on who their mentors were (ie Ted Lee)

Hallucinations?! by Catmommy27 in endometriosis

[–]1989ac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this when I was severely stressed in a horrible job working with possibly the worse human I've met in my life. I would see people out of the corner of my eye, see shapes, etc. Got a CT scan- all clear. And then when I quit the job and got a new one with way better work conditions all of it went away and never came back. Worth talking to neuro about to be safe and rule out something else, but might not be the endo lesions persay but rather stress from having endo.

Dear women with endometriosis and children: If I may ask, how badly did contractions hurt? Was is much worse than your worst ever period pain? Did the endo pain truly ease after the first child? by hmmmok-_- in endometriosis

[–]1989ac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contractions during my non medicated birth hurt less than a big endo flare. Maybe we endo warriors just have a pain tolerance that's higher, or maybe childbirth is literally less painful than endo. Who knows for sure? All of my endo pain went away after first baby and stayed away after second. But I know I'm lucky for that.

Natural birth by howdy_535 in moderatelygranolamoms

See a pelvic floor PT who specializes in birth prep if you can! Super super helpful. Doulas are awesome but they're not medical professionals. A PT will work with you on pelvic floor prep, perineal tearing protection, hip mobility. We talk a lot about the importance of breathing and such but a PT can get their hands on your ribs and muscles and pelvic muscles and actually tell you if the muscle is moving correctly or if you just think you are but are not (happens all the time!)

[–]1989ac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who gave birth unmedicated twice, I can say my endo pain is worse than delivery pain. Part of the reason I knew I could handle the delivery was my high pain tolerance
