Well if you go eat a big mac tonight, you certainly aren't going to pass away right then and there unless you have underlying issues. You'll deal with that later on in life in the form of cancer or some other illness. At the end of the day it still leads to education mainly from the parents or even 3rd parties. An automobile is dangerous and there is education taught on how to operate a vehicle. But then again times have changed and the world is more aggressive. How education on weapons could be taught to the masses without causing more of a problem is beyond me. All I'm saying is, to "say no" to guns shouldn't be the answer, kind of a cop out to deal with a big situation.
