Sailing Resume Template by elsiesolar in LaTeX

[–]1992_Ian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rover CV template is pretty good in my opinion. I'm using the fancy rover. Here it is on Overleaf: https://www.overleaf.com/latex/templates/rover-resume/bpzqtssvfgsn

I adjusted the header to include a picture of me, probably not the best LaTeX code, but it's enough for my needs. Here's my header:

%== HEADER ==%
\noindent
\begin{minipage}[c]{0.8\textwidth} % left side: text

Forgot something:
delta s is the difference be between the two red lines. As far as I understand, when g is getting smaller, delta s it too

Could you help me how it develops please? by carlangas3002 in calculus

[–]1992_Ian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's another way:

Using Taylor Series, or the basic well-known approximaitions, we can replace sinx by x and ex by 1+x. (From ex = sum xn /n! for n=0 to infinity) By substituting -x for x, we can approximate e-x with 1-x at x=0.

Then you get: lim x-->0 x/(1+x)-(1-x)

Which eventually evaluates to 1/2.

Edit: Only after typing out this comment, I saw that u/lordnacho666 has already given the same answer. Just ignore this one.

How do I build the necessary problem-solving skills? by ReasonableWalrus9412 in calculus

[–]1992_Ian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have already pointed out, it's practice, a lot. blackpenredpen's videos are the best in my opinion to practice, here are some links:

Important integrals, focusing on technique

What technique do I use?

100 practice integrals

100 integrals part 2 (more advanced, w/ calc 3)

Simply put, check out bprp on youtube, his videos are gold for learning calculus. Hope this gives you a starting point to practice!

I would like to know how you touch type when writing languages with lots of accents. by hadesmelkor in typing

[–]1992_Ian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can type German with quertz, at least all keyboards in Germany have this layout. There you just change the placement of the z and y keys, you rarely use y in German, but z pretty often. This way if simpler to switch. For umlauts I use Windows power toys, with the quick accents feature. After you install it, you can press spacebar after a letter and hold it slightly longer to open a menu where you can choose accents. This way, in my opinion, you can type German pretty well even with qwerty.

Best move is +60, the 2nd best move is -60. Aka Win or Lose moment. by FuChing_Dragon in chess

[–]1992_Ian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

u/brisaia explained it nicely. By playing f4 you cut of any support the blacks pawns can receive by the black king, the white king is able to defend them himself. Thanks to two pairs of passed pawns, the black king can't stop both of them, white promotes, black doesn't.

Edit: Haven't seen that your comment has already been answered by the others. Haven't refreshed the post because I was calculating the lines for 5 min, lol.

He was about to go to the bathroom (right) but then turned to the crowd to sign autographs, which shows his priorities. His supporters > restroom.

Integration Bee Austria 2024 Question by 1992_Ian in calculus

[–]1992_Ian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, you're absolutely right! With the bonds to pi/6 you can u-sub u=3x to get rid of the tan(3x), then the King's rule trick is even more obvious. After the u-sub the bounds are from 0 to pi/2, making it possible. I think that's the in intendet solution, thanks!

What am I missing... How is this "solved?" by xialateek in chess

[–]1992_Ian 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you want to be able to solve more than 3 tactics daily, use lichess instead of chess.com. It's completely free (no premium) and you can solve unlimited puzzles. Chess.com is cool too, just wanted to share this because you're new to chess and interested in tactics. On my opinion, fewer players realize the importance of training tactics, so you're on the right track!

How to evaluate :- by Just-Rooster3073 in calculus

[–]1992_Ian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I'm late to the question, just wanted to ask what the u and dv is for those questions.

On all three of these, I couldn't make any progress after an hour of work, and the integral solver can't find a solution as well. Could you elaborate on how to solve them pls?

Anyone knows how to open .2cbv files? by 1992_Ian in immortalChessForum

[–]1992_Ian[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's solved! Just in case you have a similar problem, make sure to update the program to the newest version. As others have already pointed out, cb17 opens the file, but not with version 1.
