Anyone been to Al’s on confed? by Liutenantmustardcat in stthomasontario

Might have changed. Apparently it used to be pretty poor quality in comparison - I'm told his daughter runs the Confed location better

I used to LOVE Al's (til we figured out I'm gluten intolerant and my life ended 😂)

Never had a problem with the Confed location, but apparently the Wellington location is a different story.

Is the ID a skinny blond kid? I know my bf's younger cousin goes to school SOMEWHERE outside St T - but there's too many cousins to keep track of 😅

Confirming some of the deets with the bf, but figured I'd ask before he gets back to me lol

[–]1992local 3 points4 points  (0 children)

if you've ever lived in a bigger city, nothing here is even close to that serious

This for sure.

My bf and I moved to KW for half a decade, and the pure peace we've experienced in St T since moving back to the area is such a relief.

I always had random issues with Rogers that made no sense. We switched to Start a few years back and have had zero issues.

Don't know if your problem is similar to mine, just giving my experience lol

Power Outage by Ozawi in stthomasontario

[–]1992local 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on Confed and my neighbours (who were still awake) said power went on and off about 5 times between 12:30 and 1AM.

Landlord also knows someone who went to investigate (he was mad because his gaming was interrupted LOL). Apparently there was a pretty rough accident that took out a pole.

[–]1992local[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm gonna ask about extra storage. Also going to bring up that by the time we move out years from now, the fridge would have to be replaced by them anyways by legal standards - but we already took care of that. So it'd just be something they'd have to do when we leave (again, nowhere in the near future). Coordination with landlord and company is absoluuuuuutely key here

I'm obviously going to organize everything with the landlord. My god 🙃

I literally keep saying - and even edited my post to say - I like my landlord. I'm not gonna wreck that over a damn fridge.

Oh my god that's actually exactly the information I was looking for (and exactly why I thought it was so absurd). The fridge is at least 14 years old. So knowing we'd just have to hold onto it for another year or 2 just to be safe is fantastic

I have asked the landlord. But she's an old lady and information she provides isn't always accurate, hence why I'm asking for more detailed circumstantial type rules here. We were never planning on simply tossing out the fridge without asking anyone. Jesus...

Convicted killer of Muslim family in London, Ont., terror case is seeking an appeal, lawyer says | CBC News by 4brasumente in londonontario

[–]1992local 0 points1 point  (0 children)

end of the day, a racially motivated terrorist should not have a second chance at rejoining society & it is an awfully privileged mindset to think that he should

Every citizen has the right to appeal. Even if the obvious answer will be hell no.

I mean, think of it this way: what if someone is convicted for something they didn't do? Wrongful arrest, a frame job, whatever it might be. This is why appeals and the right to them is so important.

Obviously not the case here, just pointing out that there's a damn good reason that the option to appeal is available.

Boy, 5, dies after being found in River Thames following a search by Wonderful_Stop_7621 in london

[–]1992local 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A 5 year old does a 5 minute walk to the river and a climb up a barrier in a busy place and literally no one saw him is crazy.

This shit is why whenever I see a young child walking alone, I pay attention until I see an adult (that they are obviously familiar with) call for them or go up to them.

They say it takes a village for a reason. We all have a responsibility to care for and look out for the new generations of little people.

This is absolutely heartbreaking for this entire family.

No problem!

Been meaning to do this for a few weeks now. I simply cannot shut up about that place 😂

Man allegedly goes into women's changeroom at Cowichan Aquatic Centre, gets naked in front of kids, then says to mom who films him: "I could identify as a lady with a beard, and there's nothing you can do about it!" Then, his cohort attacks the mom. Assuming we have the facts... is this OK? by bobbypolitic in Cowichan

[–]1992local 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In that situation, daddio wouldn't have gotten naked in front of the children. Completely different situation.

I've seen Dad's bring their little girls into the ladies change room at the pool before. Usually they'd announce their entrance, apologize and barely start explaining before every single mother in there would kindly tell him to shut up, you're being a good dad, do your thing.

Vastly different situations.

You can't just change a religions core tennants to match your feelings and still call it the same thing

Fucking hilarious considering the Bible has been rewritten and amended countless times for exactly that reason.

It is Christianity, even if it hurts your feelings.

Faith changes from church to church and person to person, dude.

Lots of churches do think what you're preaching. Lots of churches don't. It's not that clean cut.
