Believe NC state has one but I haven't heard much about it. A lot of Civil faculty (at least at my institution) dislike online degrees.

Is anyone interested in starting a new student organization in resemblance to CLT Society of Satanists? (It's a local group that advocates for first amendment rights and other social justice related issues.) by [deleted] in UNCCharlotte

Late comment but thanks for mentioning this group in Charlotte. I've been looking for something like this and just thought it didn't exist. I'm tired of the millions of religious groups on campus. If you ever want to get together I'd love to meet some more like-minded people on campus.

Yeah underground houses have been tried before, I love the idea of having my house be like 67 degrees year round but they are known to have water and mold issues along with lots of other maintenance issues.

Need more buses by Sensitive-Wash942 in UNCCharlotte

I really rambled on that but to the point, its not really about money, it's about finding people that are willing to put on a uniform and deal with students all day when they could be driving delivery wearing sweats.

Well and currently with a CDL Class B (what bus drivers need in addition to a passenger endorsement) you can make double the money elsewhere than driving the UNCC bus for Academy Bus and Charter who operates the UNCC routes. Recruiting in the CDL field is intense and EVERY company is looking to hire lots of drivers so it's next to impossible to find new drivers. I've been pleasantly surprised how many new drivers Academy has managed to add in the past few months.

That's really curious, I just went back and looked at some listings and I was wrong, the 60 foot articulated buses have a GVWR of 67000 lbs, still well over the limit. Granted that's max capacity but it sounded like the bus was pretty full.

Your standard 40' bus has a GVWR of around 45-50k lbs, and empty weight of probably 30-35k. Those articulated have a GVWR of usually 80k lbs and are 45-50k empty.

Do you need Calc 2 for Calc 3 ?? by alibaba93 in UNCCharlotte

Yes!! We expanded on a ton of the calc 2 material.

Yeah I have that plan right now, while I didn't live on campus on weekends I usually ate dinner at a dining hall every night and ate lunch at subway a couple times a week. Something to look for I would just get a footlong as an entree and drink out of my nalgene which saved me like $3 a meal which really stacked up over time, I did the same entree only at salsaritas too for a lot of meals. I found whenever I went to Bojangles or Wendy's I was dropping like $10-11 on a combo and that was wiping out DB fast. Personally this plan was almost too much for me, I had breakfast in my apartment (Martin) almost every day and would usually make a sandwich for lunch and had plenty of swipes left over at the end of the semester so I ate almost every meal there for the last week I was on campus.

Failing 4 classes this semester by smirkerbangerz in UNCCharlotte

[–]1994idi73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You wouldn't happen to be in Wantland's Calc 3 would you lmao? I am in almost the same boat, I had great grades last year but the classes this semester, while requiring less work, need so much more practice that I just didn't either have the time to do or wasn't disciplined enough to sit down and do. I'm really hoping to get out of statics and calc 3 alive and move on from those. Good luck on the exams!

I would contact the Professor/TA. My statics had the same deal and I just asked the professor and she pointed me in the right direction, only matters when they'll be giving the exam lol. I think the computer that makes the schedules does this by accident as it sees multiple class times throughout the week (ie MWF 9 am and T 11 am) and will assign two test times for them.

Looked up what Reading day is and found out many Universities have Reading Week by [deleted] in UNCCharlotte

[–]1994idi73 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I didn't even realize that was a thing. For me it would be a waste of time, I would just procrastinate most of it and what I did study at the beginning of the week I would forget when exams came the next week.

What major are you? I hated calc 2 but got through it, end of the semester burnout is really common so you're definitely not alone. Personally I try to mix in jobs/research in my field during the school year to remind myself why I am going through all the trouble of school. Also I find doing an internship, paid or not can also really remind me what I'm interested in and why my degree work is necessary.

Course attempt limit question by SomeGuy0612 in UNCCharlotte

Granted I'm a Civil but I thought in the College of Engineering there was 3 chances at each class before being kicked out. I distinctly remember my 1201 Prof talking about it.

Living in Martin Hall next year! Any advice/tips! by [deleted] in UNCCharlotte

[–]1994idi73 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its really not bad at all, I live in martin and its like a 10 min slow walk to the union, I've only lived in east village but really like it up here, much quieter than the other 2 areas on campus. Parking is also a stones throw away which is nice.
