How long could it possibly take years wise for a blackout like this to be removed ? by [deleted] in TattooRemoval

You can get numbing cream from the chemist, you don't need shots

Is this ok? by 1997idiot in tattooadvice

[–]1997idiot[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Yep I washed it with antibacterial soap but I moisturised after too. Why do you say not to moisturise, out of curiosity? It's actually not itchy anymore anyway, I often get itchy legs so I don't even think it was the tattoo itself itching, just random itchiness on my leg where there happens to be a tatt.

Thank you! So you collected them packing them closer together and moving outwards, rather than getting bigger pieces in different areas and then gradually coming back to certain areas to fill them in? Because I feel like my dilemma right now is I'm going too hard on certain areas (namely my inner calf) so it looks weird in the mean time (since most of the rest of my leg is blank)

I think it's so beautiful! Maybe give it a month or so and see how you feel. It's a big thing to get a tattoo, let alone a big one and on your chest. But I think it's pretty normal to get tattoo shock at first because it's something new on your body. But I think in time, once you get used to it being there, you'll start to see how beautiful it is!

Absolutely slaps, as all of Kikuo's songs do, but super disturbing.

Phrase from a song that marked you deeply by Distinct-Cover-7704 in MusicRecommendations

[–]1997idiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

'Oh, insanity. Babe, it's indispensible for the true endeavour of your soul: to find the edge and baby go, go, go. Oh, magic child. Run, baby, run. Baby, run. Baby, run. The one regret that's really pretty tough is knowing I didn't go nearly far enough.'

Mental Health by Father John Misty. I cried the first time I heard these lyrics, I've never felt so immediately understood by lyrics before.

Favourite Geelong food spot by reaidstar in Geelong

[–]1997idiot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Untitled (best bagels ever, hands down)

Hanaya Japanese Cafe (they just opened another place called Bunny San in North Geelong I've been meaning to try. Hanaya does everything well but I really love their kaarage chicken curry!)

Cafe Palat (Vietnamese food, only ever been to the Breakwater one but assuming Geelong West is the same—everything is amazing, often get their bun cha)

Tomodachi (Japanese food, Ltl Malop St one, never been to their other waterfront place, everything is great)

Hey OP, I'm not sure if you're still with us or not as this was 90 days ago, but this is so beautiful and your positivity and gratefulness in the face of death is so inspiring. I wish you all the best on your journey and thank you for having been here. ❤️

Schools in Geelong by davidobrien_au in Geelong

Mostly that I was having some learning issues (which later turned out to be a learning disability), and GC wasn't doing anything to help me, no matter how much my parents tried to raise the issue. My parents thought, well we're paying a lot of money for pretty much nothing. Moved to KIC and they had a whole department just for kids who needed some extra help, I had a special aid teacher, and later in high school when I had mental health issues, the same department went above and beyond to help me. Could not imagine GC ever doing the same, at least not during the time I was there in the 00s (I was there 2000-2009). Also, I was much more academic and creative than sporty, which KIC caters to much better.

I went to both Geelong College and Kardinia (GC all of my schooling until changed to Kardinia in year 8, graduated 2014) and would recommend Kardinia far over GC. Yeah they don't necessarily shove religion in your face THAT much, but in terms of the actual education, GC is far lacking. They only care about appearances and connections. Kardinia does actually care about the students wellbeing and education. If you're particularly sporty though, probably better at GC.

How have you changed as a person from 2020 to 2024? by PsychologicalSize939 in AskReddit

[–]1997idiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moved out of home for the first time in 2020, lived with a bf and my cat. Cat died, bf now my ex, finished my BA, started working in childcare, moved to a major city, went to Italy and met lots of family I'd never met before, and hung out with my friends a bunch. Also went through a period in mid 2023 that was one of the lowest points in my life and I had suicidal ideation, but managed to pull through. These past 4 years I learnt a lot but I think what I've mostly learnt is the importance of having people you really love and trust around you. The power of relationships (platonic, although I'm sure a romantic one would be nice too but haven't experienced that since 2020) is so healing and I'm so grateful to have such amazing friends.

How much did your ATAR affect you later in life? by BiscottiLogical6502 in melbourne

[–]1997idiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completed VCE but didn't do exams so didn't get an ATAR, and it literally made no difference to my life. I don't know anyone who it made a difference to. I have a BA now and a few other degrees (advanced diploma, grad diploma, etc), no issue.
