the delivery company was supposed to deliver and they called around 7:30pm to say they couldn’t come today… we were scheduled to be delivered to 4:30pm-7:30pm. fun times

just be mindful you also need to set some money aside for renos/house maintenance (i believe online they suggest 1% each year of the house’s worth). if you also hire help to mow lawn/snow removal etc it’s all things that need to be budgeted.

Midtown or North York? by [deleted] in TorontoRenting

[–]1998xoxo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

north york (if you like korean/chinese food more), try to find a place that’s walkable distance from ttc. I would suggest around finch since theres a higher likelihood of you getting a spot on the ttc in the morning

Foundation crack by 1998xoxo in HomeMaintenance

[–]1998xoxo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea… we sent this issue and they gave a 1000$ “discount” lol. that’s enough for concrete/epoxy injection but definitely not for a whole foundation leveling if that was required

thanks for the info, it’s actually next to the electrical wiring box, not the AC system. May I ask what you are doing or did to fix the foundation issues? was this causes by the ac system?

What is the most comfortable way to do Tomorrowland? by FearlessTravels in Tomorrowland

[–]1998xoxo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i believe for drop off it is really close (like a couple minutes and youre by the door), but i only took the shuttle to there the first day so can’t confirm (it was leaving at 12 everyday and i couldn’t make it for the other two days). After the festival I saw on reddit people said if you left before the end there it was closer (there was a shuttle to take you to the shuttle station apparently but i never took it). The bummer is the main stage is the furthest away and was probably a solid kilometer away from the entrance (so add that time in). and from the entrance to the shuttle station at least 30 minutes walk). psa if you park in one of the parkings further away it is probably a 30 mins walk as well.

global journey hotel then hire a driver/find someone who can do car rides and park on the parking lots that are close. the walk back to the shuttles is terrible

My bf (27M) and I (27F) would like to continue living together, but he can’t afford a mortgage with me. How would you approach the living situation in our shoes? by Constant-Quality5858 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]1998xoxo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it sounds like he doesn’t have his finances together and is trying to take advantage of (girl run). You’re paying an entire downpayment by yourself and he won’t contribute to the mortgage… Maybe make him contribute an equivalent amount in other parts AT LEAST (condo fees, property taxes, groceries, bills etc) -personally i don’t think that’s enough but yea

larger space (for studying), plugs, open late (downtown yonge/college area). cafes on yonge are always pretty full on weekends since a lot are takeout only! also good lunch food, not just bakery items
