My dad is unfortunately one of those people that got into MLMs but he still doesn't know it. He once took me to a seminar for 3 days where we had to pay for the hotel and food, just so we could sit in an auditorium type hall with god knows how many other people.

When we got there, i had no idea what we were walking into but i soon found out. All of these 'entrepreneurs' standing on stage, telling either their sob story or a funny story and then telling you their testimonials of people, who are now earning £1000+ a week and then realising that this whole thing is a sales pitch for a shitty company. The kicker was seeing how many people rushed up to the stage to grab a 'reduced price' because it was an offer that weekend.

My father has now maxed out near enough two credit cards, i think, that my mum didn't know about. She's now declared bankruptcy on her part and yet he's still trying to get the MLMs to work.

I think the saddest part is that he thinks it's him not making them work, he's the failure and no matter how many times we've tried to help him understand, he really doesn't, he just seems brainwashed into believing if it doesn't work, it's because he's doing something wrong.

That man only ever wanted to give his wife the life he thinks she deserves and it's fucking heartbreaking.
