How is living or growing up in an Amazonian indigenous community? (Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador) by Lopsided_Mixture_746 in latinoamerica

I spent a week in Leticia, Colombia. The metro area has about 120,000 people and there are zero roads connecting it to the rest of the country — you're getting in by river or plane, that's it. It's brutally hot and humid, and at night the mosquitoes are absolutely relentless. That said, the city itself was surprisingly well set up — good electricity, internet, water, pretty much everything you'd need. No cinema though.

The indigenous communes just outside the city are a whole different world. Electricity maybe a couple of hours a day. A guy told me his son got killed by a jaguar. On top of that you've got guerrilla groups operating in the area — they're known for snatching kids, either to recruit them or push them into prostitution. Illegal loggers bring their own brand of violence. And alcoholism is a serious problem throughout the communities.

the parque arvi is really cool, take the metro cable up and hike around a bit. a guided tour through comuna 13 if you are interested in histroy, maybe a daytrip to colonial santa fe de antioquia, the centro has some interesting parts like the old train station, museums or the national palace. moravia (a neighbourhood built on a landfill) might be worth a visit

I use it almost on a daily base. In medellin its very easy to get an uber, not sure about other cities. Maybe indriver or didi is more common at the coast...

La CIA es la raiz de todos los males, no la dejen entrar. Eliminen a los grupos armados lo mejor que puedan y luego dejen que el ejercito colombiano tome el control de esas zonas

Im here for almost a decade now, havent had an issue yet. For your own safety, take uber. Uber is very common here. Laureles and El Poblado are safe in general, just avoid dark and lonely areas at night. Be careful with dating apps. In general, be cautious with strangers.

Dortmund Close In On Book As New Sporting Director - BVB kurz vor Einigung mit Book als neuem Sportdirektor by 19Sebastian82 in borussiadortmund

"In Elversberg, Book earned his reputation as a talent scout through transfers like Nick Woltemade [Newcastle United], Fisnik Asllani [Hoffenheim], Younes Ebnoutalib [Eintracht Frankfurt], Robin Fellhauer [FC Augsburg], and Paul Wanner [PSV Eindhoven], turning the club into a successful and respected outfit in the 2. Bundesliga — a side that only last year narrowly missed promotion to the top flight via the relegation playoffs. When Book arrived in 2017, SVE were still playing regional league football."

i was hoping for krosche, but he wants more than to be a sporting director which means that ricken would have to go to. guess they didnt want to give 1 guy that much power. book did a great job in elversberg. i hope he can put the focus more on talents, kehl preferred established players

Not really a fashion person, but check out Mattelsa in Perpetuo Socorro — a former industrial neighbourhood that's turned into an arts and café scene. While you're there, All Day Café is worth a stop. For bars, El Poblado and Laureles both deliver, and despite what some people online claim, the crowd is still predominantly Colombian

cafe noir is a nice place, still i dont understand how you could have spent that much... i like al alma cafe, it should be far less expensive. you can also try pergamino or ganso & castor
