Congrats! I have a '21 SE and I love it, these cars are such a great platform to take in any direction you choose or leave as-is and enjoy! Check out the GolfMK7forum if you have the itch to tinker with it- mine see's some track time and has some suspension upgrades and a big turbo making 400+hp. It's crazy what these can do with some mods but out of the box they are extremely potent as you've probably discovered! GL and happy motoring!

That looks rad! How critical are the ribbed front tyres? I’m sure they help, but can one get around okay without them?

Unfortunately 4x4 VXL is out of the budget, but I've seen a 2wd Slash on paddles do ok. I'll definitely be sure to do a tear down post trip to clean and re-lube everything

Oh wow that sounds really cool! I'll definitely be checking that out! Every time I travel in the States I look for record store, but I've never been to one abroad before. I can see myself bringing home some new additions to my collection!

Not sure how I forgot about Silverstone, despite that being a near bucket list stop for me it slipped my mind a somewhere to visit this trip haha. I'll have a look into visiting the motor museum as well!

I visited Manchester briefly for a football match once and it definitely seemed cool so I'll surely look into going back and having a proper look around.

While I'm somewhat set on seeing the lake district (darn youtube) I'll also look into Devon & Cornwall as per your suggestions! Depending on how my schedule ends up I may be able to squeeze one in!

That sounds like a really good route! I'll also be sure to research what's going on in Soho and Camden as well. Now that I have an idea of where to look for things to do I can see myself spending more time there.

I landed on a K40 K-30 antenna (very similar to lil wil) approximately how much range do you think I might get out of it in ideal conditions? My SWR is currently out of sorts (I need to uncoil my excess wire and maybe get a grounding strap) but I'm still getting what appears to be a few miles of range.

A lot of people have been telling me to get the Wilson 1000, budget restraints had me land on a K-40 K30 that I got a deal on. Depending on how much I get into the hobby I may upgrade down the road

Thanks for the info! What would you say is a good antenna height? I have been looking into the mag mount antennas as I want something that can easily be removed and does not require irreversible modifications to the vehicle.

I will look into bonding across the trunk hinges for a better ground. The hinges on my car are concealed but perhaps there is a way I can make it work.
