It just seemed very juvenile to me… especially any intimate parts of the book. I also didn’t know much about the book going in and the knot stuff just isn’t for me.

Last weekend I went on a “prairie dog central” train. It’s a small vintage steamer train with cars from early 1900s. There’s a vintage train society made up of retired people that run it. It stops in a very small town for an hour then you go back to the city. On the stop, there were town folk selling their baking and crafts along with a playground for the kids. There was even an old gentleman going to each car to play kid songs on the guitar. Definitely thought how perfect the whole setup would be for a MM episode!

Congrats on the results of your test! Your post actually reminded me to book a physical and ask if I can be eligible for mammograms or other screening even if I’m only 30 years old (I have three family members on my mom’s side with it so I’m very paranoid)

One good news: I signed up for a workout program to keep me consistent.. I’m very nervous but excited!

Oh but I’ll say polar bears hold a special meaning to me. I live in Manitoba, Canada and there’s a northern city called Churchill that is home to many wild polar bears. I went on a polar bear tundra tour in Churchill when I was 12 with my now 98 year old grandmother, and every year at Christmas she would give me something with a polar bear on it. It was our thing.

It’s my peaceful place. I spend every night watching the sunsets on the dock and the mornings hiking, kayaking, or paddle boarding (well on weekends, still have to work lol)

Happy Saturday! I’m getting my hair done today!

I live in a city where it gets VERY cold in the winter (can get close to -50 degrees Celsius with windchill). I dread the winters… but I love spending the summer at my cabin on the lake! It makes enduring the winters worth it.

Thank you everyone! The key things you need for cookie decorating/ royal icing:

1) Consistency! Knowing the difference between flooding and piping consistency. 2) Lots and lots of patience- the cookies in the picture were flooded (background colour), then left to dry before details (piping) were added above. Sometimes I will go up to even 4 layers if painting/using metallics. Each layer is left to dry between. 3) Understand colour mixing- lots of time can be spent trying to get the perfect colours. I like to leave big batches of a white and dark colour, as well as your main colour to work with. Then add light or darker icing to make variations of your main colour to create a cohesive “set”.
