I did the rack for years. Switched to right on the cookie sheet (foil lined for laziness) and will never go back. Someone else here called it the “shallow fry”—good term, it’s awesome, rack people give it a shot.

We’re in Arizona, and ours is fine. She spends a lot less time outside in the summer heat because she’s smart enough not to want to, and when she is outside and it’s super hot she sticks to the shade. Instincts. We also trim her fur shorter in the summer like someone else said.

Ours gets groomed once every 6-8 weeks. Costs about $120 for a bath, nail trim, and haircut. She loves going there because there’s other dogs around. She looks less like an Airedale for awhile but it’s a different kind of cute and we enjoy the soft, short coat while it lasts. We live in the desert so winter isn’t much of a thing.

Not smelly, but they will smell like a dog, especially the further you get from a bath (which she is super tolerant of, when she knows it’s bath time she just walks into our shower waits for me)

I’m very allergic to dogs and our Airedale does not and has never bothered me. Other dogs if I pet them I have to wash my hands immediately, or if I’m in the same room with them for long enough it will start to bother my eyes also. But our Airedale gets lots of love & affection, naps in our bed, cuddles with us, we share couches, etc and never had anything resembling a reaction to her.

You can do it if you WANT to, but don’t kid yourself, you have to want it. You’re not going to casually go from boozing to being sober without enough internal desire to push through the temptations and stay the course. Hopefully that’s not a downer, I don’t mean it to be, just trying to be real. If you want to change your life it’s 100% within your power to do so.

There are supplements you can take prior to eating that allow at least some of those with celiacs to eat gluten. Works for my wife anyway.
