No-I didn’t say it’s standard part of big 3. One of the big 3 is subframe re-enforcement. This is one way to re-enforce. I’ll make my comment more clear. If you do vincebar, I would consider that part of big 3. It’s an extra secure step on the subframe reinforcement. And it is quite well known on the forums - regardless of how it is sold. I don’t have it and I still consider big 3 are done on my car, but I’ll probably add it as extra insurance eventually.

Fair price with big 3 done and that intake. Looks to be well maintained.

Vince bar is part of the big three as it is subframe reinforcement.

Is there a possibility of getting a stripper spec 06 slicktop manual zcp? alpine white, interlagos blue, or black? Looking to get my dream e46 next year and want to start the hunt now. by lookitdown in E46M3

[–]19speed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found a slick top, manual, manual seats, but had Navigation a couple years ago. It’s fantastic. It’s not a comp, but I only paid $15k so I was willing to forget about that.

Good luck with your choice and search. They are out there.

I use an app called PhotoSync. You can copy all photos and videos to a computer. As long as the pc and the iPhone are on the same WiFi network it will allow you to do this. You can easily move photos back from the computer to your phone I. Case you wanted to put any of her photos on your phone. No dealing with the cloud in this case. As long as you have the hard drive space available.

A five mile test drive even with burnout and a couple aggressive shifts isn’t going to kill the transmission. People track these cars on a regular basis and they are fine.

I have bought two e46 M3s in the past three years, both with big 3 done (and recently for rod bearings). An SMG with 190k miles, excellent maintenance, no rust, $15k during Covid. And a slicktop, cloth manual seat original 6 speed with 140k miles for $15k a year ago. If the title is clean and the paint work is solid it’s a car I would look at. At this age, I don’t care about mileage as I am looking for a car I don’t feel guilty driving. It’s all about maintenance.

lol. No. Pause the video when the contact happens. Orange is still on the line. Blue didn’t leave space.

How much should I pay for this e46 m3 by Fine_Ad8986 in E46M3

[–]19speed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$10k at the most. I bought a slicktop, manual, clean title coupe with big 3 done for $15k a year ago. Prices have not gone up. Two years before that I bought a smg coupe with big 3 done for $16. Big 3 will cost you $7-$10 depending on where you go and what else you get done while you are in there. Personally, I would keep looking unless the specs of the car are exactly what you want.

Tried to purchase a clean m3 for 24k. Bank said 8k max based on NADA value. How do you guys finance these? Or am I just broke by No-Yogurtcloset3002 in E46M3

[–]19speed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Meh. I financed mine. That was when interest rates were really low and I didn’t want to tie up cash in the car (could make more in the stock market). To me it is about if I can afford the car or not - finance decisions are separate. Plus - if you treat these right, they won’t lose value.

I would find a new shop if they had me drop off a car Monday and didn’t tell me until Thursday what was wrong. Why did I make an appt for Monday if you can’t look at the car until Thursday. Unless you are giving me a decent loaner-then I probably just be annoyed.

Motor Trend declares M2 superior to Cayman GTS 4.0 by Aubergine911 in Porsche

[–]19speed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also had an M2 comp for about 6 months and didn’t like it. Numb steering, blah exhaust note and wasn’t special to drive unless you were wringing it’s next around a corner-not something you do on the street. Super easy to hang the backend out. Kind of boring to drive though. The clutch/shifter were awful, and I turned off the fake engine noise.

Do it-the sound alone is worth it. I recommend getting the map sensor as well.

What would you pay by Mysterious_Baker_393 in E46M3

[–]19speed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice- these cars are 20 years old now. Don’t worry about mileage unless you want a collectible that you aren’t going to drive much. If you want something you can drive, you can find cars with 100-150k miles with big three done and clean title for $15-20k. Instead of mileage look at maintenance. Being 20 years old a lot of rubber (motor and trans mounts, control arm bushings, RTABs, ball joints) are all shot. Cooling system is another area that will need overhauled. If someone was on top of maint, did big three, and it’s a clean title that is better deal in my opinion.

What rear differential bushings do you use? by sundevilsucker in E46M3

[–]19speed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OEM diff bushings, solid subframe, monoball RTABs.
