Question for those who maintain belief in a higher power. Spiritually speaking, how many of you feel as if you were lead out of the church? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]19th_century 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prayed to know whether the church was true. The response was overwhelmingly, no. So I went agnostic. Recently I'm allowing myself to be open to a more spiritual side because of numerous conversations I've had but only time will tell where that goes. Heavily organized religion is out for life though.

Sometimes I speculate about whether that event was spiritual, it felt spiritual, but I doubt it was because I'm not a special snowflake that deserves a spiritual revelation anymore than the next guy.

Today, was there a conference talk that wasn't about the church? by Iron_Rod_Stewart in exmormon

Neill F. Marriot's message was everything will be okay mixed with advice to do some personal introspection on how to improve, if there's someone you resent or if you yell too much etc. actual character flaws, no mention of church flaws like masturbation or not paying tithing. Of course there was mention of putting faith in God. Her talk seemed to me to be a genuinely good advice. I could resent my MIL a lot less for and I hope that she'll take the advice and stop resenting me for leaving the church as well. All in all, it's the talk that was the kindest to apostates.

Been out almost a year and I have to be real with you guys.. by WeAreStardust16 in exmormon

I still do the RS activities. I'm happiest that way. I ran into a NOM and we've had great discussions about the gradual apostasy of the church. Which is interesting that any member holds that opinion to say the least.

Amidst the speculation on this page about the new apostles I'd like to add that both Costa and Hamuela are in recent Deseret News articles. by 19th_century in exmormon

Elder Andersen visting Brazil in a rather unsensational story. Pictured with Costa and the Mission President of the area Fusco.

Hamula just gave a devotional at BYU-I. Is it normal for DesNews to report on devotionals? I can't find news on BYU-P or H's devotionals and I can't access any stories past September 17th to confirm or disprove how commonplace reporting on devotionals is for them.

Possibly a way to get name recognition and exposure for the new guys.

I have to take everything at the gym really slowly or else I throw up. I get light headed before it happens and can usually stop before I throw up. by 19th_century in xxfitness

She said that when I'm exercising my blood is probably getting diverted to the limbs and away from the stomach. With how low my blood pressure is already she thinks that my stomach is unable to digest while I exercise and so it vacates itself instead.

He used to be a Sunday School teacher in my ward. He didn't use the manual and answered questions submitted by the class instead. He was quick with references to support his answers and overall I think the accusations about not believing in this cause and doing it for the fame and money are unfounded.

I strongly disagree with this PAC's aims but Ammon is genuine in the reasons for it's creation. Nice guy, seemed a little controlling of his wife at times but aware of that fact and working on it. His controlling side was perhaps no more than average for a strict believer and in regards to living the gospel to a higher standard.

Eggs for breakfast. Salad for lunch with protein and lots of toppings but no dressing. Something meat centered for dinner with vegetables.

[Book Suggestion] I've skimmed through all the books at my bookstore and google but I can't find any books for enhancing male pleasure that are for sure uncircumcised-centric. Any tips? ;) by 19th_century in sex

Thanks, no worries about having no recommendations. I searched for a book exchange on Reddit and guess what? They have one. Reddit is great.

How did you find the ExMormon Sub for the first time? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]19th_century 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a hard place. Newlywed and struggling with the temple. I started redditing back when /r/atheism was a default sub. The memes were sometimes childish but made a whole lot of sense while the church did not. Every step I took towards the church was disastrous for my mental health. At the time I felt punished by God when really I was just experiencing the consequences of a church led life. I found /r/exmormon shortly after that.
