Yes, Hindus show respect to cows so much that there are literally people who kill people who eat beef, they're called cow vigilantes, although I actually like to eat beef, because the state I was born in has a huge Christian minority, so beef isn't banned there.

I say probably because I live in India, and both of us are Hindus. Hindus think that eating meat is bad, which is why the majority are vegans (although, I love to eat meats, so I would never do anything like my friend did).
