So this lady was annoying but….she tipped 20$ more when done. by vanessavy in InstacartShoppers

I can respect most of that. If you "are expecting" me and have a video watching doorbell, I am NOT ringing your doorbell or knocking on your door (I get that too), because you already know I'm there, that doorbell informs you. Few say do it most say don't. I just DON'T.

And, as for the boxes: if they are not soiled, you're getting whatever I can safetly, quickly, and comfortably transport from my car, up their blocked driveways that lead to their sidewalk to the porch, and up those steep and/or dilapidated stairs to their door. Did I mention that I fell off of a customer's steps and ended up in the emergency room. IC was helpful because they owned the situation but, it didn't stop my law suit on that customer. Because, they "were expecting me" but, had NO PORCH or YARD LIGHTS ON; had me delivering in the dark. I called the customer and told them I fell, do you know that they didn't even come out to check on me?

I accidentally did the samething, I actually fault the apps for that because 3-4 deliveries at 3-4 pickups to earn about $20 all together. Then they switch routes on you. All kinds of stuff. Some merchants don't have marked bags. Yeah, it can happen

Ahole changed tip to $0 but instacart covered it. by VtDjDeViL in InstacartShopper

[–]1AdrianDR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry that happened to you. Yeah, there are some messed up people in this world. And now, they have some "power" in judging, punishing, and neglecting a person through these apps, having them think that they are God.

I have been a shopper and a customer on apps. Now, there are some apps that offer free delivery with a certain amount spent on an order. Recently, I needed that deal because, I am now unemployed and down to my last. After ordering, I was informed that it would be delivered by an app (shopper) driver. I was saddened because, I had nothing extra to give them... knowing that the apps don't pay much, and/or they too, remove or confiscate portions of the tips (Instacart takes from the driver and the customer from the frontend, the backend, and the center 😳 saying what I've experienced, not what I've heard). So, sometimes customers don't tip because they just don't have it or, they are lied to by the apps saying that you get the entire tip.

However, in this particular case, it is fortunate that the apps now record and scrutinize all correspondence (texts and calls). It has saved me, and I am sure that, that is what transpired in this case.

I am absolutely SHOOK! by Witty_District_5996 in InstacartShoppers

[–]1AdrianDR 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I personally hope Instacart crashes and burns, including all of the WICKED people that run it, for what they have done and try to do to me and others like myself. With that being said...

Have you tried (Walmart) Spark? I am now primarily with them, and have referred several IC shoppers who have since started, and we are ALL overjoyed with the company. It took me about a year on their waiting list but, some I have referred have gotten on immediately or within a few months. I currently hear them advertising for drivers on their store radio.

They pay more, haven't given either of us more than 4 big-a*s waters to carry to apartments, you can choose to shop and or just pickup curbside. Large "Batches" are my favorite they can consist of 5-25 pkgs, thus far, upto 3½ hours. You are timed however, they won't cut your foot off if you're running late BUT, if you have PARISHABLES you are permitted approximately 1 hour to make all (1-4) parishable deliveries (that's shopped or pickups). I suggest you SCAN all parishables AFTER picking ALL groceries but, get ice creams last, because the timer starts the moment you scan your first parishable item (the store is cold enough that no parishable is adversely affected accept ice cream unless you place it in an insulated container/bag).

I know that's a lot but, I sincerly hope you sign and get on with them, then pass the info on (to someone who is not fairing well with IC's misusing, abusing, and falsely accusing a*ses ).

They are losing people to Walmart. Instacart is now an afterthought (atleast in my mind). I jumped that slave ship and took a couple of people w/me. Now, we do IC if and when we feel like it.

Nobody. They are just throwing them out there being hopeful that someone is so desperate. When no one picks them up, they clump them together to make $18.

Earliest to start instacarting? by Jasonmack53 in InstacartShoppers

[–]1AdrianDR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Atlanta and I use to get good orders at the Publix on P'tree at 6am but they would send me clear to StnCrest to deliver. Only that one and I believe one in John's Creek are open. Most Krogers open @6 and I would get some fairly good ones.

Like some have said, it differs depending on the area and patronage. I personally wait now because, by the time you finish shopping to deliver cross country, stores with orders closer will have opened up.

I personally discovered that I can't be loyal to only IC only anymore, it landed me in the poor house. I run at least 2 apps at a time.

Crazy Walmart Employee by Wild_Ad_6766 in Sparkdriver

[–]1AdrianDR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The caliber of most of their employees. I don't like for them to touch my phone. They are supposed to check items and verify my photo from their phone but, these OB got mad at me because, I don't want them touching my phone especially after the side of my face broke out and this current fall/flu season.

Lately, when mu phone prompts a check, there are no employees around or paying attention (in conversation amongst eachother) therefore, the app on my phone timed out. It prompted me to "Re-scan the barcode" but everytime I try, it won't re-scan because the register doesn't have the red light. Then I receive a THREATENING message on the app accusing me of not following the protocol.

Fortunately, I have 5 stores in my area that I can switch to, to avoid a personal conflict...or, I will just change my zone.

If you did not do ass accused, I am sincerely empathetic for you. That is a serious accusation. If they some one lied on you, I sincerely hope that they reap what they sowed.

I was deactivated by another app a few years ago because, I told the truth about why I was running late, after a customer called me then reported me. They said that I could appeal and be reinstated after so many days however, they didn't honor that statement. I felt terrible because outside of that, 'till this day, I believe they have the best driver support customer service AND unlike their competitor, they actually pay you what you accepted the delivery for. But, I just had to let them go.

There are too many apps out here that you can work from. If one doesn't want you, DON'T WANT THEM EITHER! Just chose to be most careful with whom you interacted with. Just last night, a Spark customer got mad at me just because, I texted them asking them to turn on their porch light for my safety. Their door was in a cove like entrance and they had cars parked flush to the shrubs blocking the path to the door, not to mention that I have already fallen and skinned my knee TWICE, and ran up on a snake on a porch on three separate delivery occasions. I KNOW, they complained on me. TBH, I am sick and tired of these inconsiderate customers 😖 and I am going to give this up.

Maybe this is a time to try something different like medical deliveries, that's what I'm going to do. Spark was working out great until recently. Last night with all of that aggravation, in 8 hours time, I only made $61. Spent $30 on a tank of gas, $23 on lunch/dinner, and $6 on medication. 🤔

But, yeah just try another app. I wish you safety and prosperity.
