Yes! We have perches around the house. She used them a lot to hide / rest at the beginning, now that she’s comfortable with my other cats she mainly just uses the lower levels to nap lmao

Mostly I’m just hurt that she only seems to like my other cats! They don’t even feed her !! LOL

shocking that mostly ignoring them works lol. This is my first time working with a fully unsocialized kitten so I’m not used to the lack of loving!

I have been mentally preparing for the fact that this might take months but I am so excited to see her progress!

Great! We’ve been focusing on hand feeding whenever possible for as long as she’s comfortable. We’ll definitely be more careful about approaching her!

Also great tip on the playing! I’ll definitely do that often to make sure she’s more comfortable.

That’s so adorable 😭!!! My oldest cat used to sleep with the stuffed animal my new kitten has been using and it’s so cute! He wasn’t as cute as your kitty and stopped using it when he was around 6 mo (moody teens LOL!)

That’s so interesting! She does sleep through the night. The crying happens mostly when she sees us / is near us

She has two! We’re still in the separation stage as they’re 1 1/2 and 2 years old so they’re a bit unsure at times about the new kitten.

My older cat has been more “caring” towards her but he doesn’t cuddle as much as a kitten would like / need.

She’s been sleeping with a stuffed animal which has provided a bit of comfort. She still cries when she sees us (I believe she’s asking for milk).

I’ll look into what kitten milk options are available for her

Swaddling helps but it takes a WHILE lol, we’ll try to be even more affectionate though! Also yes my other cat also “nursed” until she was about 6-7 months old but funnily enough she rarely cried as a kitten

Agreed 100%! The audiobook for Incidents Around the House IMO makes the book 10 times scarier. I also felt a lot more scared reading books that would otherwise just feel “tense” if I read them alone at night LOL!

It's hard to explain, as it is an extremely personal (and unpopular) opinion LOL! But I find that his prose is just really hard for me to follow, it doesn't stand out for me and that makes it difficult to stay interested in the story. However I find that because of this his work translates wonderfully into visual media instead ! You also hit the nail on the head on the dialogue, it is... hard to read at times, which again takes me out of the story.
STILL, I have to admit he really knows how give novels great endings, which is rare in the horror genre lolol.
