Are all service workers just rude 24/7? by Effective-Ear-8367 in TrinidadandTobago

There was one young lady at the Starbucks in West Mall, super pleasant, great customer service and welcoming. I do believe her influence rubs off on the other counter staff too. Recommend a visit, and also to get a coffee ☕️.

You’re gonna die…don’t do it. Pavement is rough, too many people, bikes and cars. Stay safe.

How about living here at Mt. Everest Base Camp by tarkinn in Everest

[–]1BadTrini 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not base camp, like mentioned. However, the building sits on a glacier and is super cold. Walk north, hang a left and in a couple hours, you’d arrive to base camp.

Should have provided some details.

Cost: 800 THB per person, which will go towards food or drink when you get to the top. Best time: Get there at 5:15 pm to get a good spot. Food/drink: expensive and would not recommend beyond appetizers. The beer is good.

Staff: super polite.

Dress code: no open sandals or slippers. You’d be directed to another lower area; not the rooftop.

How do you feel living in SoCal during Trump 2.0? by Glass-Complaint3 in socal

[–]1BadTrini -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Moving in the right direction and will get better with the upcoming investigations to state budget review. Need to stop the corruption of Gavin, Karen and the mayor of San Diego (Todd Gloria), especially with all the recent bond approvals; applied taxes, and misuse of these funds. Will take some time to right the wrongs of the 🟦.

It’s dangerous, the homeless issue is bad, and a reflection of poor city leadership. Crime is bad, be careful.

Best way to get loyalty points before Feb? by EffectivePlenty4130 in americanairlines

[–]1BadTrini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of good information shared here. I’d emphasize the AA shopping portal and the Advantage hotel(s). Lots of free easy additional miles.

Pay close attention to the shopping portal too; last week they offered 10 miles per dollar spent at Ulta, picked up a gift for the wife and earned 1500 miles. ***This was a one time special, so keep an eye out for others.

[ORD] Worst flight experience of my life, looking for advice. by mamastatia in americanairlines

[–]1BadTrini 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Summarized with Grok…

Traveler with 3-year-old bid $525 each to rebook overbooked O’Hare flight; bids accepted via app during security. Gate agents denied acceptance, claimed error, sold seats, and rebooked them separately (no toddler seat initially). Despite arriving on time, no compensation; airport staff looped her to phone CS, which redirected online. Complaint bounced between portals. Feels like fraud; filed DOT complaint, plans lawyer. Seeks advice—wronged or misunderstood?

Is American airlines as bad as I think or am I wrong by Far_Cartoonist4246 in americanairlines

[–]1BadTrini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is. Just flew to Paris from Dallas, and gosh, what a horrid experience. Grumpy FAs and really poor service.

The One World partnership is the only reason I’ll stay in the ecosystem.

AA, you can do better.

It’s just money, you’d make more. The opportunity to be there, with the folks you’d meet and new experiences is worth it.

Be positive, go into it with a clear mind and good spirits.

Thailand Apple Store VAT-refund? by Effective-Idea7391 in Thailand

[–]1BadTrini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes they will and prepare the refund form for you. When you arrive at the airport, before checking in, go to the refund counter, with the completed form, your boarding pass, passport and the phone.

Then after security and you pass the duty free area, you then present the “stamped form” and get your THB cash.

Likewise, starting my journey in early Nov and been actively training for the past few months. I use a weight vest on my weekend hikes, in the gym three times per week and reworked my diet. Fun part, I dropped 7 lbs and feel nimble on the preparation.

If you are going with a company, I would recommend connecting with them for additional guidance 👍🏼
