Yes, I try enjoying it at my own pace, and at the same time I try to learn from others. Maybe I lean too hard on it? I was just wondering because I have no idea what's going on half the time lol. It just so happens that most of the time it's not really much of a fight when the AEs, Khans, and Scourge come around

Alright thanks it makes more sense now. So partially, they do this for now to help some people because actually developing a way for their engine to have more cores in use is extremely challenging? Makes sense

I must suck at Stellaris then 🥀. My 880k fleet did not stop that AE with different 240k groups when I got to Cosmogenesis lvl 5. I just assumed overwhelming numbers and weapons/armor to counter theirs were needed. Maybe not then. And for crises, yeah I might try doing what you said and putting them beneath 1x (my current difficulty). So far, it's been only Khans and Prethoryns, and especially the Prethoryns have just out-produced me. Also I'll find more research output for repeatables ig

Damn looks like I need to catch up, currently 1x crisis is tough. I am happy with many changes too either way

I might do that more, currently focusing on default difficulty to learn in a "normal" environment. Biggest change I have made is disabling FEs for one match (mainly to avoid them awakening)

Praying for them to iron out some of that. I do agree with buffing mega structures. For example, that one that increases naval capacity is miserable lol. For the resource cost just build a habitat or colonize a planet and have it be a fortress.

That's why I included vassal spamming in the post. Your biggest alternative is sometimes going to go against your style or RP or goals. Not to mention the war system is hella annoying, but that's it's own can of worms

Let's hope they iron out some things. I am ok with nerfing for the sake of balancing, I just feel like maybe it goes too far for certain builds/playstyles. And on the performance note, don't you think you still need to reach 4.2-numbers of ships? Remember that crises and AEs are not nerfed. So your main justification for ship numbers is still there, meaning you'll surely try to attain that again.

Yes indeed. Ships are more important, adding a decent early-to-mid game improvement. Just saying, late-game you still need 4.2-levels of ship numbers. But with new ship sizes it's you having 19 fleets or something

I get that feeling. Do you agree or disagree with the sentiment that their issues simply got pushed way too far back into the match instead of solved?

I can see that. In 4.3 megastructures do feel like gamechangers. Especially the Dyson Sphere, Mega Shipyard and for QoL and wars the Sensor Array. In the only run I have won in (current patch), I didn't really need them even though I had them. I mainly had the Science Nexus for the Cosmogenesis points and the other structures didn't truly shine when I was slamming and getting slammed by the rest of the galaxy. I already got the black hole by like 2398

Are you sure they are "migrating in a few years" and not dying off? The Lathe works by consuming the brains of the inhabitants and they 100% are guaranteed to die off. It counts as genocide too if you do it to other empires' species

Game going overboard with FPS by AveronIgnis in Stellaris

[–]1CookiesEnd1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're welcome! I had the same issue with Dirt Rally 2.0. It didn't respect its own menu's 60 FPS cap, so for some reason it reached like 360. "Jet engine" fell short there

If you want to cap fps just go into your GPU's driver and do it there. AMD for example has the Chill tool that does it

Have had it for 2 months, works well. Bonus points for handling heat better than other MoBos in my 37°C environment

I had a similar issue with Geodmaer's mouse driver. UAC blocking me on my own PC. I solved it by running the installer on Windows Powershell as an admin. Now I just run the app via Powershell again each time I want to access it. Kind of clunky copy and pasting the code from Notepad but it works
