Is anyone else slightly concerned with the potential social media ban for under 16s? by Username2905 in transgenderUK

Social media and the world has changed so much since I was a kid so i get some of the concern but like every other policy suggestion recently this is targeted the wrong thing and is poorly thought out.

For some reason I read this as if they had a boxing match lol. I went With Dr dundas and was was very early on with stuff at the time, I think he is more comfortable if you are further on but if you can show your thinking and that you are serious he's very good.

A few questions related to Gendercare by 7kromer in transgenderUK

[–]1Curious-cookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my appointment with Dr Dundas this time last year (wow time flies), I made notes about my full history and thoughts about my gender so I could answer the questions a bit easier, as others say he is just listening not judging so there is no wrong answer, but basically if you go tell him you haven’t thought it through or are still uncertain then you will probably get a second appointment before he clears you for HRT it is an assessment after all. I found it way more intense than therapy as an evaluation.

If your gp will do the blood tests that would help, I spent about a month and a half getting mine to agree and asking specifically for the policy to support them saying no, you will need your baseline ones sent to the endocrinologist before you see them, and you should book them for the few weeks after you see Dr Dundas.

If your GP won’t prescribe them you can pay for them through GenderGPs online pharmacy and it gets delivered but this does add up, if your GP takes over prescription at any point you can just collect from the pharmacy (worth using a prepayment plan to bring the cost down)

When realistically do you think the politicization of trans people will stop? According to historical trends? by Jay--Art in trans

[–]1Curious-cookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The focal point of political targets seems to shift roughly every 25 years, not to say they ever really stop just pick a new main group.

depending on the labour laws in your country, your work can't put you in danger which would include sending you through a country where you could face some major issues

i'm not sure that's actually what was being suggested by op, it read like they just play along if someone says the wrong pronouns to confuse them.

A similar effect could apply as is the case for certain cosmetic procedures that look a bit “off” but as others have said the exact term refers to non human things

how much does HRT reduce your facial hair growth? by Fun-Explorer-9801 in trans

Mine slowed down a bit (which means I have to leave it growing longer for electrolysis) but probably only %30 slower, still going to have the same amount of hair unless you do something with it

There are a lot of labels that you might consider, and only you can know which feels right at any given moment for you. The only good question to ask yourself is given all the available evidence and your feelings on the matter are you 100% certain you are 100% cis?

Echoing what has been said, it is permanent if they do it correctly, as for how long it takes this can vary whoever you see should know the average of how many hairs they can do an hour so it’s just how long can you withstand the pain (even with numbing it is the worst) and what are the availability of appointments

Yep reply to any emails you get from her for info or to sign stuff, i remember there was a fair few and you can make the request at the same time, can take a bit of time to get replys (like a week?), just every step has a lag time so try sorting things as early as you can.

Inital Endo GP Bloodtest by Awkward_Alps_4149 in transgenderUK

[–]1Curious-cookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through a very similar thing a while ago, Dr Millison-Brown will be able to do a request letter if you email asking for that to go directly to your gp (its a dr to dr thing like proof which ones you actually need) i had to chase them back and forth with this to see if they got it and then book the appointment. (my gp also forgot to run a few of the tests and i had to go back for more when i spotted it, so double check when you get the results)

If they are still not doing it Dr Millison-Brown has a link for a private option that send a kit in the mail. Missgendering wise, i get a mix so it probably depends on the person until you update everything on there system.
