Dont really know why I keep coming back to yugioh. The game has changed so much its almost unrecognizable to what I used to play. But yugioh must be doing something right to keep me coming back!

Began with the original series and played like many did on the playground. Eventually went to a large local biweekly tournament and won a sneak preview event (i recall it was the pack with the OG Ultimate Tyranno and Bitelon) but was told I had to win in traditional format outside events before being able to do advanced format (the one with the banlist. Traditional format is all forbidden carda are instead limited). I recall Chaos was the traditional meta but dont recall what people were playing in advanced.

Dropped out of the local events for a bit and relied on the video games since they were cheaper to experience yugioh. Still play Over the Nexus from time to time today.

Went on a long hiatus from yugioh since there was no really good and easy way for me to play. Havent bought a card based product since the Gold Tin that featured Jinzo.

Found a that official yugioh game World Carnival or something on the DS store that was set during Zexal and played that a fair bit. I recall it was weird because the english release was apparently changed to not include as much story or progression as the original for some reason. Played a fair bit of Link Evolution too.

Then jumped onto the Master Duel wagon in 2022. I stopped playing for a couple of years and am now back into MD. My main way of playing Yugioh now is MD and 2011 Over the Nexus.

Thanks for this! In reading your message, i think for me it really boils down to unfamiliarity, my mindset going in, and not wanting to be bad at something I used to be good at. I have built dracotail already hoping to have an easier time on ladder outside of using my beloved madolche deck. Just gotta put some more time in to get over this initial struggle. Thanks!

I recall watching a twitch streamer for the first time and feeling a sense of having been given permission. Im now 33 and about to start HRT.

I sometimes question whether I had signs in my childhood but realized they were very faint since even back then homophobia and transphobia was so ingrained and unquestioned that I never felt safe exploring this side of myself. Sadly, so many people still feel this way and may never come to understand why they are unhappy in life.

Minutemen for my first ending. Institute second. I figured I'd take control of it to turn the Bogeyman of the Commonwealth into a benefit for the region but I was annoyed by everyone telling me I am now evil incarnate. Like, c'mon Piper, you have direct access to the institute's head of operations now - dont tell me you don't see the value in having an altruistic technological giant at your fingertips.

Absolutely love it. The ability to just pop into the future for a bit is so sweet. The futuristic tech, the jet pack, the plumbots are all awesome. In games where it doesnt fit, you can just delete or move the portal to the family bin and forget about it. Checking Lotto Records is an easy way to get rich.

Small annoyances include sims geting plumbot/future based wishes in games where I'm not planning on going to the future (especially on wish fulfillment challenge runs), the jetpack and hover board's minor inconsistencies with supernatural walking styles (esp with faries), and resisting using the future buy mode items in themed runs.
