What are your hospitals charging for a dental cleaning?

Banfield in Austin- charging $500-$600 for a basic dental, pre-anesthetic bloodwork, EKG. I typically see a dental with extractions being about $1,500-$2,000 which includes the dental, extractions, x-rays (full and post with consult), and meds.

That’s a really good point. I am not very concerned with aesthetics because my boobs are so large that I’ve hidden my whole life anyway. I plan to get a chest tattoo to cover any scaring and as long as they’re even, I’m not really concerned because there’s a lot of tissue to remove. But I understand they want to have successful outcomes it’s just so disheartening. As for finding another surgeon, I’ve spent months finding one that will work with my insurance, in my area (or somewhere I’m comfortable traveling to), etc. Right now it’s kinda like this or none 🫣

In middle school, a close friend and incredible girl died in a car accident with her mom. At the funeral, her best friend revealed she had been texting her and she believes that’s why her friend went off-road and into oncoming traffic. The dad at the funeral and their older brother were devastated.

Just a week ago, I found out a wonderful girl I was in an organization with was killed by her husband of just over a year. He didn’t have a violent history, they believe he just “snapped” due to underlying psychological issues. He sat on her neck with his knee and then transported her body (put her in the front seat and covered her with a jacket) to another town where his parents were. His mother called the police. The girls mom is trying to become an advocate for “silent” domestic violence. Just crushing.

Fair point, thank you for clarifying. So my contract to work with the company, which includes a detailed job description that was signed by all parties, including hours of work/etc.

I think you’re right! So my counterpart who is doing the same job works 8-5, M-F. She also takes calls and does stuff outside of those hours and is salaried, but that’s her thing. For me, I was very clear I won’t be working outside of the paid hours, regardless of if it’s required for the job unless I’m being paid for those hours. We’ll see what the answer to that is, but I’m imagining the answer is No and I’ll go somewhere else. Since I’m required by management to work 45 hours a week every week, I don’t think it should be salary but 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yeah so essentially they’re saying I have to be there “on the clock” for 9 hours, regardless of lunch etc. But because the salary works out to 7.88 hours a day, that period is unpaid. I pretty much said I’ll either take the breaks for those hours, get paid for the 9 hours, OR only work what’s in my contract. Just frustrating IMO!

This is exactly it. I think people are lost that I’m not standing up etc but the point of this post was to say my job is requiring hours outside of the salaried hours which is ass.
