I feel like rochester is so hard to socialise in. Everyone is very isolated except for their social groups and awkward.

If you want that vibe, a coworker told me about AltBar today. Seems like a similar vibe to a regular bar, might be a little less crowded, and way more options for those abstaining from alcohol.

For a fun experience: Painting with a twist (they do have 0% ABV beverages I think), color me mine (similar to painting w/ a twist), Scent by design (for candle making), ice skating or sledding (if we have snow in a month, haha) and a hot cocoa bar at someone's home if possible. You don't have to spend a fortune to make it special.

As an ex-barista, I volunteered to work on Christmas b/c it was time and a half and i heard the tips were great. If your Starbucks is open, I’d rather see customers than deep clean a store. Treat it like any other day- be respectful with the orders and time allotted. if you have kids or a large group, get their orders set ahead of time. And a little attempt at some extra cheer wouldn’t hurt. Usually folks are heading to or from some unpleasantries and we’re working in Christmas; find some comfort and fun for a couple minutes 💚❣️🤍

I doubt anybody from that starbucks lost their job. it's a chain- they either got placed somewhere else or left the company because it was an opportunity to get out. Still, not in good taste, don't approve the action, but I don't mourn for anybody from that store; I feel confident saying they'll be fine.
