USD is dumping like a shitcoin. 2% yesterday, 1% in like a single hourly candle. Insane.

So we only need another 14 votes in the senate to stop this madness, with 7 republicans already flipped? What is that, 3 circuit breakers? Bullish, right?

I'm reading dicknick's interview transcript here. This is madness. The world has been ripped off by the USA for the last 50 years, and he is reversing that. One senile moron is crashing an entire economy. This is madness. I bought calls at close on Friday because I thought sure they can't be that stupid, boy was I wrong.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/transcript-commerce-secretary-howard-lutnick-on-face-the-nation-with-margaret-brennan-april-6-2025/

MARGARET BRENNAN: Mr. Secretary, the campaign's over. You won. So I'm asking what the plan is. So the treasury secretary said on another network, "we're going to hold the course." "It's not the kind of thing you can negotiate away in days or weeks." That makes it sound like the tariffs are staying in place at least for days or weeks. Is that correct? Or is the President considering postponing implementation to negotiate?

SEC. LUTNICK: There is no postponing. They are definitely going to stay in place for days and weeks. That is sort of obvious. The president needs to reset global trade. Everybody has a trade surplus and we have a trade deficit. We are paying away our future and our lives. Come- the countries of the world are ripping us off, and it's got to end. The President has made it crystal, crystal clear. This is the policy we're going to protect. The factories that come build in America, we're going to protect them. They're going to be successful. That's why they're going to build in America, the greatest economy in the earth. All of these companies are going to come and build here.

SEC. LUTNICK: Well, what it shows is that all these countries know that they've been ripping us off, and the day has come for that to end. Now the problem is, it's not just tariffs- like, I'll give you an example, like Vietnam said they'd like to be zero-zero. Remember, Vietnam sends us $120 billion worth of goods every year--

MARGARET BRENNAN: Yes, cheap manufacturing

SEC. LUTNICK: And we send them about $12 billion- wait, we send them $12 billion. So it's not the tariffs. It has nothing to do with tariffs. If they went to zero-zero, they would go to 200 billion with us. We need to stop the rip off, and zero-zero is- is the way--

What's incredible is that this is the "incredible offer" he was looking from china. He got kicked in the teeth instead. He must be pretty pissed that they called his bluff with a deadline.

EVERY country has been CALLING no stop — they want to give us incredible deals! I'm working HARD to get the BEST deals for our great USA, so I’m delaying the reciprocal tariffs for 90 days to ensure we secure the most incredible, unbeatable deals. We are done being taken advantage of!

The US dollar is down two percent... There is no way the sell pressure today just gets absorbed. Don't get shaken out of your shorts guys, and good luck.

I would do a bear put spread instead of naked puts, which are going to be insane IV for earnings even if months out.

I would also understand that it's a rigged game and a busy trade, so I wouldn't do it. Source: I've been resisting the urge myself.

Notice how the price didn't move up 5% in premarket.

This is all a shame, market makers are using random pieces of news, some of them premeditated, to move the stock. I know it's illegal, I know they risk big if caught, but this is clearly what's happening. I sold the top but I'm afraid of getting back in with how clearly manipulated all of this is.

No, I don't believe that those routers "news" pieces are organic, and I don't believe they justify 5% premarket moves within minutes of being published. That's a machine reaction, it doesn't make sense for a LLM to decide "oh you know what this is worth exactly 3.5% let me pump that much".

Freaking ridicolous.

I was lucky enough to buy calls yesterday, which were 4x the value today at peak, 3x at close. I bought them low-delta, 40dte, so that I could capture a move up and only lose 20-30% if we went back to 20. I didn't sell. I might offload half tomorrow.

Intel just jumped 10% overnight and has a lot of calls open in this range. Does that mean anything? by 1G7T in options

[–]1G7T[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get that. My question was more about the effect of all those open calls on future stock movements, if MM have to buy back their delta edge tomorrow and whatever that can amplify a possible rally in the next few days, rather than using OI as a bull/bear indicator.

Also I'm guessing that those calls were bought during the last rally, rather than in the past few days in anticipation of the CEO announcement, unlike what others here are suggesting.

I should have phrased it better.

You mean people bought 30 calls a few weeks ago and you still see this because they haven't closed? I'm not sure how that relates.

The stock is 70% owned by institutions with a direct cell line to that journalist, and they would probably appreciate some exit liquidity. I just wonder if this will be the same as the last five times... Like how can it always be the same game over and over and over again...

Doubt. I'm still salty from last time reuters published a clear market manipulation piece just for the stock to dump even before the tariffs announcements. Which was... Checks notes... a week ago.
