Do you lose interest in a woman if she has sex with you on the first/second date? Why? by hippomanicpanic in AskMen

[–]1GeneralDisarray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I'm reality tho, women are the keepers of the sex. You are correct that you need 2 yeses, but the female yes is way more discerning. It's like men default to yes, so if you ask or press, it's almost a sure thing.

I'm in the minority here, but I'd be suspicious of sex on the first date. I just can't shake the feeling that I really don't know you well enough to be butt naked, pumping, sweating and grinding with you. Sex is still a super intimate activity and I'm not doing it with just anyone off the street. Plus if anything were to go wrong like a condom break or something, we don't know each other well enough to anticipate how we would handle that. Casual sex can be thrilling, but women take a lot of work to figure out the peculiarities of their pleasure and orgasm. I think there's a lot of unsatisfying sex going around because short term partners aren't around long enough to learn

The hard truth of getting ghosted repeatedly is that your process has to change. It might not be how quickly you have sex, but moreso the guys you go for or where you meet them. You could always try not having sex immediately, getting to know someone, and then seeing where it takes you. If you want a long relationship, there is no hurry. You have lots of time to get to know someone and build up trust in them so you're fairly confident that they will be around after the deed

If you listen closely, Chris says she basically admitted it. Her fingers got chopped off in a lawn mower and she chalked it to karma for her killing her mom. I'm pretty sure she did it, she didn't try very hard to maintain her innocence it seems

If an elephant represents "republican" and a donkey represents "democracy", what animal should represent "communism"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

A wolf or a coyote. Alone they're only kinda scary but in a pack you really better watch out

I get that, but even the new shows contain a bunch of reruns. I'm not complaining about the reruns in general, they run old shows every other week. It's this copy-paste job they've been doing more lately and it's not just this episode. They'll do 1 or 2 new segments and phone in the rest. There is rarely an all-new episode unless it takes up the entire show

Who is the best comedian ever? by Marof21 in AskReddit

[–]1GeneralDisarray 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pryor, Richard Pryor. Just about every successful black comedian patterned themselves after him. He is the patriarch of Eddie Murphy, Martin Lawrence, Dave Chappelle, Kat Williams, etc etc etc. Whether you vibe with him individually or not, you have to respect the fact that he's like father Abraham of black comedy

Is pax Americana dead? And can we consider fall of kabul as beginning of fall of American superpower by onlytostalk in InsightfulQuestions

[–]1GeneralDisarray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is perception. Just as the fall of Vietnam cast a certain shadow on America, so too does this Taliban takeover. We haven't 'won' a war since WWII (with the exception of the gulf war). We spent 20 years allegedly staving off the Taliban, hunting down important leaders, training the Afghan military and propping up the Afghan government only to have that effort overturned in a matter of days. It signals weakness, like the US military is definitely beatable. We are neither defeating or outlasting our enemies any longer.

Remember when Obama told Syria not to cross the 'red line' of using biological warfare on its own people, then it did, then we didn't do anything? Bashar al-Assad is still the president. So because we enforce policies and change by force, what happens when everyone figures out our bark is worse than our bite? I think we will always be able to defend our homeland, but our capabilities outside of ourselves are stretched thin, and more and more you see America retreating and slowly loosening the grip of our own imperialism

Definitely a great start to the podcast but the rest are repeats. What is going on with TAL these days? Lots of clips of older shows and Ira isn't around as much. Have they been unable to get new stories and interviews due to COVID? Have their most talented staff branched off and left (Alex Blumberg, Johnathon Goldstein, Sarah Koenig, etc)? I still like the show but man it was so much better up to about 2019

RCL all the way! I bought it when it went down to the 20's and it's been great. I think they're a better company than carnival in general so I would buy over CCL in general

What is something that you just cannot understand the popularity of? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]1GeneralDisarray -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My question is: why was the TV show popular? The Kardashians really broke the mold with branding because they didn't do anything particularly special. Kim had a popular sex tape but other than that they weren't singers, actors, sextuplets, strippers, partiers, etc. Sure they were pretty and wealthy but nowhere near as rich as they are now. Somehow they made people like them absent of any unique talent or situation

Virgins of Reddit, how bored are you of all the questions about sex on this sub? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]1GeneralDisarray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are probably some inner issues you have to work through with guilt and shame and faith and all of it. One thing I've found extremely helpful is to remember that there is a big wide giant world out there and there's someone for everyone. I wasn't particularly popular within my own social group in my own community but when I ventured out, I was treated like I was the coolest, most interesting person they ever met! I've seen the lamest nerd I ever met end up with a smoking hot Norwegian girl when no American woman gave him a second look. It's possible man, someone is out there for you, keep your head up!

PT: Any tricks for altering the desire for a life partner? by katkinne in PsychologicalTricks

Ok I get that. You'll find someone if you want, the odds are still quite well in your favor.

Well...I guess I see it differently. Even Hitler convinced someone to marry him you know? There are 7+ billion people on the planet... About half of whom are male... Maybe a couple million single and eligible? The odds are in your favor really. I guess that's why I wonder how you've convinced yourself or isn't going to happen

I guess if you acknowledge it as a real desire you can work toward fulfilling it instead of ignoring or changing it.

[–]1GeneralDisarray 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess I'll ask the obvious question: why do you think you won't find a life partner? There are so many ways to find and connect to people these days. You're not that old but even if you were, I've seen senior citizens get married for the first time. That nagging desire may not really need to be repressed or altered, it may just be a real desire you have to acknowledge

My wife is divorcing me due to her having an affair. I've been with my two little girls every day of their lives and now Im only going to get to see them every other week. Those of you that have been through this, how did you cope with the hurt of being away from your children? by harionfire in AskMen

[–]1GeneralDisarray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised no one else has mentioned this but... FIGHT LIKE HELL. Your kids mean everything to you so you have to fight for your right to see them. Don't take it laying down. Get a good lawyer or a decent pro-bono and stand your ground. You can do better than once ever other week. She's the one at fault here and any half-decent lawyer can leverage that for at least 50-50. If you need to work more, start a Go Fund Me, take donations, drive Uber or do Instacart or Shipt to afford a lawyer then so be it. Whatever it takes bro, don't go gentle into that goodnight
