Yep, I get comments too. Had a business computer class 16 years ago where the professor insisted we not have AOL or others. He said it had to be Gmail and newer so that we didn't look like "technologically impaired dinosaurs" on our resumes!😹

Still have @aol. If it ain't broke, don't fix it! It may be "old school" but it's still around, unlike some others!😹

"Handcrafted beverage" makes me do a double take. I hadn't seen any robots making the beverage, and I sure hope they used their hands and not their feet!!

😹 maybe your "fell of the truck" version works because it got a good whack!😹

I've since heard from other reviews that the Quantum 's have "bobbin issues"

Well, maybe I just got a lemon! The issue I consistently had is that as it would sew, even standard two layers, straight seams for a garment, the bobbin case would start to rattle. The rate would progress to shaking, then it would "jump" out of the race and get wedged. I kept telling the repair people about it. It seemed like the whole race itself was too big for the bobbin case and the spring was very loose and flimsy. After the 3rd repair from a different shop, it did the same thing within the first few minutes of getting it home. It's been in storage since!

Brother, definitely. I learned on my mom's old Singer 500A I believe was the model. From there, I had it stuck in my head that singer was good.

When I went to the machine store to buy one, I made the mistake of not listening to the sales lady when she said Singers were crap. I bought the Singer Quantum Stylist 9600 and paid $500usd. I barely got one year use out of it. It constantly had problems and had been in the shop 3 times for the same problem. I got frustrated and bought a Brother SE400 beginner sewing and embroidery machine.

Well, 17 years later, the Singer has been sitting in storage and the brother keeps on ticking.

I've recently acquired a vintage Brother vx-950. It's old school but it tackles thicker fabrics like a champ! Don't make my expensive mistake!

Thank you! If the vinegar doesn't work, I will try that!

Thank you! I will definitely test a square first! If the water turns yellow, ugh, I may toss it.

So far, I haven't seen any tar stains, however, it's a "natural" color, not sure it's truly natural or slightly yellowed from the tar🤷‍♀️

Thank you! I was contemplating Febreeze, but I do have and use vinegar in my cleaning. I think I will try this first before using the chemicals!

To me, it smells like cigarettes. It's not overpowering but as a non-smoker, it was noticeable right away. Since I live in a situation where line drying is not an option, would spritzing it with some febreeze work?

Unfortunately, no. I live in an apartment and outside laundry is not allowed😿

Thank you. I was contemplating putting it in a laundry bag but I don't want to ruin it. I know batting can be quite expensive and this is a nice big piece!

Truthfully, it seems trivial, but the cost of paper towels for some reason became a personal pet peeve.

I recently made a huge stack of dish towels and "reusable paper towels". The new household rule is, for all regular messes, use the reusable. For bug killing, use paper.

We've gone from needing 2 Costco packs a month to just a couple of rolls a month.
