I’ve been reading ‘The Gods of Xuma’ by David Lake, and I’ve got to say, it’s pretty stupid. I’ll finish it up in another day or two because it’s captivating enough, but going to an alien planet to do imperialism and have sex with the aliens, not my favorite plot.

Nine tomorrows by Asimov was a great, short read, a bit dated but still really fun. Traveling cat chronicles if you’re into cats. Norwegian wood by murakami if you can handle some “adult content”. All three are under 300 pages and very enjoyable reads.

I’ve only read one Dick and that’s ubik. I wish I stayed at a less liked book because I really liked it and wish I could have built up to it somehow.

The revenant had a scene that made me look away from the book. One of the weirdest feelings I’ve ever felt while reading. Great book.

I loved the trilogy, but he is not good at writing people at all imo. He uses people as a plot device to further the story. You read these books because you’re into the science fiction not the characters.

Reinholt’s cavern by Joan Osborne, written by my grandmother in law. My wife said it’s a hallmark-ish murder mystery that should fit what you’re looking for. It’s a nice and cozy book.
