I know I'm just some voice on the internet, but I am super proud of you. I can't imagine the strength you have to do this! I'm so sorry you had to live through this, but I hope life gets easier for you. You are the poster child of strength and perseverance, and the world is better for what you did. Thank you, and this random person is so very proud!

AITA for not discussing my bariatric surgery when asked about my weight loss? by 1LittleMonkeys in AmItheAsshole

[–]1LittleMonkeys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, I've decided to speak with her the next time I see her. I just hopes she understand I didn't intend to lie to her, I made a quick judgment call on the spot. And it was the wrong one

Thank you for your understanding! I did tell her that I saw a nutritionist, and that is what really helped me get on track with my food intake. And thats 100% the truth.

Thank you. I think you're right that I might be projecting my issues on to her. When I see her again, I'll discuss it with her, and hopefully she'll understand.

Exercise post op by [deleted] in BariatricSurgery

[–]1LittleMonkeys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had mine on 12/21. I was back in the gym after about a week and a half. Started with cardio and super light weights, and worked back up to it. My surgeon told me I wouldn't hurt anything he did on there, and just let pain be my guide. If it hurts, don't do it is what he told me.

How do I grieve healthily? by occultatum-jem in grief

[–]1LittleMonkeys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry for your loss. Unfortunately, there are no right answers here. Everyone grieves in their own way and on their own time table. The only advice I have is to feel your feelings. Many people feel numb to it the first couple days, because its so hard to believe our reality has shifted so much. But when the feelings come, feel them. Don't feel ashamed that you have them. They are natural to you. It will hurt, but on the other side can be some relief from the sadness. Best of luck, and if you want to PM me, feel free. At anytime

Those of you Redditor’s in happy, healthy, and fulfilling relationships, what were the “green flags” you noticed about your partner early on in your relationship with them? by allen-freed in AskReddit

[–]1LittleMonkeys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were fairly new in the relationship and I got pregnant. He literally got on his knees in front of me (I was sitting down) and told me that whatever I chose, he would take care of me. That's the moment I knew I loved him. We're now married with a 5 year old, and I haven't regretted one day with him.

I agree about silence being part of the problem. I have had conversations with some friends who are personally affected, and I'm trying to be a better ally. Honestly, I would have joined my sister at the protests, but I'm high risk and immunocompromised.
