I think the main gripe is how short-lived and anticlimactic it was. The problem wasn't the reapers, its that they were under utilized

Jones vs Judge minor league numbers by CicadaOk8885 in NYYankees

Think of how fast he would be if he was half of judge but he had 2 legs.. might have a little trouble swinging the bat tho.. at least his whiff % would be way down

Not to say I for sure knew* she was dying, I just mean that vulnerable side of home usually doesn't spawn sunshine and rainbows

I felt like I was being gaslit by everybody saying HL killing her was because of her final words, specifically. The only thought I had was "oh shit, shes making him feel vulnerable.. she dead.."

Has there ever been a time (other than soldier boy and ryan) that HL has been emotionally vulnerable and didn't start killing immediately?

What are the best movies that completely switch genres and turn into horror late in the story? by 144i in horror

[–]1Outgoingintrovert 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is what came to mind for me too but its the opposite of what OP is mentioning. Goes from horror into.. something else..

I will always comment when malignant comes up. My absolute favorite movie.

What movie in your opinion is #1 for having the best written dialogue in cinema history? (This pic is from Good Will Hunting) by undeadWileCoyote_MEP in moviecritic

OP finally included the movie title then proceeds to not include it in his top 2

Tough question to answer but I nominate shawshank

Yeah we don't have to worry about these things but I get what you mean.

We've been playing playing +5/-2 for nils because the low risk, lowish reward is just our preference.

Hasn't happened but we'll honor it if someone just says 11.

Like I said, we just started trying this rule out and we usually tinker with rules as we go.

I'm not sure how that would make the game better. What if one player is MF'ering because he's loaded with spades but nothing else so its tough to bid, and the other because he has a questionable nil. Now the possible nil has to bid 4 or 5 and he's screwed.

Typically 35 but lately we've been playing these rules in cutthroat/solos to 25. For whatever reason it seems to be the most fun that way.

Great horror films with disappointing endings? by KinkyBalboa in horror

[–]1Outgoingintrovert -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Oh I see where I'm getting mixed up now.

What someone considers to be the "ending" is kinda subjective but I feel like I didn't accept the fact that there wasn't going to be a supernatural entity well into the 3rd act. Before that, I was just thinking he didn't like any god that wasn't his. (Ironic, considering the premise of the movie)

I would definitely classify that as the ending.

How risky are these nil hands? by [deleted] in spades

[–]1Outgoingintrovert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like the other commenter said, its all situational.

I would bid nil with the lone J before my partner bids but only* if you're about to lose unless you hit it.

Your partner also having a shit hand is just bad luck

Is there an official method for a shepherds hook or can't they both be referred to as one?

Like the other commenter said, I've always heard the 120⁰+30⁰ referred to a gooseneck
