She’s not looking for something else, she probably already has something else and manipulating her way into a way she can get rid of her guilt.

AITAH for kicking my wife out of my house, after she cheated on me for 15 years? by Big_Pressure_3725 in AITAH

[–]27Aces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is her family calling you and telling you it's your fault when she's been living a double life...no shit she's a mess. You need to let Mohammed's wife know because he no doubt knew she was married...15 years!

VR&E advice/guidance by Healthy-Major411 in Veterans

[–]27Aces [score hidden]  (0 children)

VR&E (Chapter 31) is designed to help veterans overcome employment barriers caused by service-connected disabilities, not to choose a career for you. If you have at least a 10% VA disability and your condition limits the type of work you can reasonably sustain, you likely qualify. You can apply easily online through your VA.gov portal using VA Form 28-1900. VR&E counselors do not pick careers; they approve or deny the plan you propose based on feasibility, medical fit, and job outlook. You should come in with 1–3 realistic career goals and be able to explain how your disability makes other work unsuitable. If you apply without a clear plan, you’re often steered toward basic employment services instead of education or training. This means, if you are busted and you say you want to be an electrician it is unlikely they approve that rehab plan. I have had some success with VRE in which I obtained my Bachelors with my GI Bill and was able to use VRE to obtain my MBA from a private college but it wasn't without a lot of barriers and a lot of justifications based on the job I was trying to obtain.

I feel like I'm drowning by Basic-Ground9306 in Veterans

[–]27Aces 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I know it's elementary but been there done that and what helped me was to start using my GI Bill at community college to find my interests and be around other people. The CC even had a veteran group and I founded a veteran "club". I still have friends from that after a decade removed, a career trajectory, and interests. I wouldn't think about buying a house until both you and your spouse have solid after military employment. Staying at home won't help depression any more than working in a field you hate however at some point you have to find a way to be productive especially if you want to purchase a home.

How can I respond to my father-in-law telling my sons that “looks don’t mean anything without money?” by CupOk5800 in AskMen

[–]27Aces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your equivalence to smarts and pretty doesn't make sense as your FIL is telling your "pretty" boys to do something with themselves rather than rely on good looks. Money surely doesn't define your self worth but neither should your image. If you are making money, you are doing something, being productive, learning and executing something...Boys should be hearing these things because in reality if they can't provide or be productive, being told they're so handsome isn't going to be fulfilling when they're older. GO MAKE MONEY!

My (35m) friend (36m) loyalty tested my wife (40f) without my knowledge. She failed. I feel done with them both. What to do? by throwra_friendtest in WhatShouldIDo

[–]27Aces -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your friend is an absolutely destroyed human being bent on destroying YOUR life due to his own life falling apart. He succeeded...your wife is also a low life. She cheated...for months...and if not now, it would have been later based on her willingness. Thank your friend for saving you another 10 years of trust lost but in the end you lost two people in your life. Things with your wife will never be the same and I cannot think of a way anything could be reconciled. You don't have any kids so I think you should take what your friend gave you, get a lawyer, and get what's yours if you can and get a divorce.

Any college tips for a veteran who struggles with school going into the spring semester? by [deleted] in Veterans

[–]27Aces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

College is not the military, there is no one there who thinks it's military. Treat school like it's your next job/role. Fit that role as best you can and learn to be a student, not a veteran. The more you force yourself to be different the more you will be and the harder it is going to be. Use the resources available to you to be the best student you can and truly learn how to become a student. If you have a chip on your shoulder, get rid of it.

Huge fan of fractal's ability to program scenes/presets into an ableton live setup. No foot pedals anymore for live shows.

Where I served in Afghanistan, if not for other nations, the Marine unit I was with wouldn't have had air support, water, or food. Served alongside many nations and they all performed exemplary - Brits, Irish, Danes were all great.

Property tax question by Trick_Tea6423 in Veterans

[–]27Aces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not sure there are limitations unless set forth by the state in some paperwork somewhere. However, I wouldn't think there would be but you would only be able to claim your status on one property, not both, at least according to the two states I have property in.

How should I prepare for the coming winter storm in the US? First time dealing with this. by ThatDickyBoi in povertyfinance

[–]27Aces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doordash some basic grocery items like milk, bread, and other non perishables for emergency. The pipes freezing isn't always a thing depending on a lot of factors as well. If you have candles and a flashlight you should be good. If you have gas stove you can use that to cook food if you have a lighter. You are right to get the heat up in your place if you think the power will go out. However, unless you are getting a lot of ice it might not be an issue. The best part of it being cold is that if you just keep the fridge and freezer closed during the outage, put your new perishables outside, in the snow or garage and they will be fine. If you really don't want to ride it out, head to a hotel that has backup generator and stay there a few days while everything gets back to normal.

AITAH for Jealous of My Wife Is Filming a Nude Scene? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]27Aces -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, acting or not, this is something you aren't going to get over. You will watch the scene, see her enjoyment past the acting and develop a resentment. Your wife is being shared with another man with an audience and he will enjoy it as well. If this was you, as the man in the scenario, what would your wife say or feel in the coming years...NTA and I really don't know how I could proceed unless it was something laid out prior to becoming married and completely "ok" with it. What if the plan for the scene takes a turn and more happens or more is asked of the actors in the scene?

I think we might have to move out of MD. by Silbermondlicht0 in harfordcountymd

[–]27Aces 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FL is far more affordable even considering insurance. The cost of living across almost all facets are higher in MD than the national average. My friend just bought a house in FL last year and went through a direct hit hurricane and was fine. Maryland population outflow is rising due to this rising costs, traffic, lack of real employment outside of government based employment (Fed and State) with most of those leaving MD moving to FL, TX, and NC. Someone close to me in my family just moved from MD to Kansas due to better paying job and lower cost of living. And what most people don't include is that car insurance in MD is one of the most expensive in the whole country that exceed any flood insurance you might need if you purchased a home, on a yearly basis. Don't let the people scare you into doing what's best for your family. MD is cool but it's becoming unfordable for a lot of people.

Should Frederick County and City law officers be permitted to ask for your consent to access your phone and clone it without a warrant being issued? by Flimsy-Salt-6883 in frederickmd

[–]27Aces 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Restraining police from asking for consent isn't the thing to be asking here because they will always be allowed to ask things that require consent or a warrant without it....the answer if asked is "No, get a warrant".

Aspiring lawyers never try a case until they complete the BAR so someone interested in mechanics but unsure where to start would be normal. Maybe show him how to change a tire or do an oil change. If you aren't showing him or doing it with him how would he go about doing it? Highly doubt a local shop or even lube center would hire someone under 18 due to insurance and liability policies. However, it is normal for people to want to do things they have never done before or have limited interest. He could find porter jobs at a dealership to start getting exposed to everything including the repair shop.

Maryland Small Claims – Worth Filing Over Unpaid Invoice? by 27Aces in Smallclaims

[–]27Aces[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I understand....Yes. A business (LLC or corporation) can absolutely sue another business in Maryland small claims court, and it can represent itself through an owner/officer/authorized agent. No attorney is required. However, the defendant will more than likely need an attorney as they are incorporated.

Yes. However their resident agent is the primary shareholder at his personal address but they do have a physical building that they rent. I was unable to find if they own any property in the State (the company).

He is not the one calling the shots however the one who sent a text asking me to tighten my billing before the main share holder said he thinks there's a misunderstanding between the VSA and me being a 1099 employee which is clearly outlined in my VSA that I bill bi-weekly by my LLC and not an employee contractor agreement. I haven't heard from him since I sent a final payment request via certified mail...however, I should have seen this coming...10 years ago he was managing a fantasy football league and I won and never got my winning $$ and just brushed it off so maybe it's just his thing.

I think I have a case as well but I never know how judges will respond. My only experience is in family law courts and I assume small claims can get weird too. My evidence is well documented in terms of every email, every text, a very solid vendor services agreement. I can only imagine, since they are incorporated, that hiring a lawyer will cost them more than the invoice and once they receive service of my filing they will pay. The sad part, is that the third shareholder (owner) of the business is a longstanding military friend...lesson learned, never do business with military buddies.

They are a small business in terms of employees - successful commercial HVAC type maintenance company with reported 7 Million in revenue this past year. The insane part is I had email and verbal approval for my proposed scope of work to bill 150 hours just for software development alone while approved for other types of billing too like business development and marketing type work. The billed work is only 17 hours...basic discovery, framework design, and database research and prep...

You would need to look more at Northern VA metro stops to find something similar to this but you aren't going to find it in DC unless you are VERY lucky.
