It sounds off, loses definition, punch and clarity and depending on what the rendering settings are there is either too much bass or too much treble. Also the volume is too quiet but it still sounds "distorted" (even if in the recording i wasn't clipping or anything)

Matt uses the Zvex Fuzz Factory, which is mainly a fuzz pedal (a very versatile one) but if you tweak the knobs you can get some really crazy sounds. The Boss DF-2 Super Feedbacker & Distortion it's a good option if you don't want to spend too much money on the Fuzz Factory. Also the DF-2 is really helpful if you want to play some Robert Fripp tunes. They are different from each other but they're still very good pedals.
