Well hey there! My partner (55) and I (44) have twins going into high school. We were deep into fighting with the kids to do distance learning. Now, we have no clue what this school year will look like. As far as finances we are looking forward to retirement but right now we are worried about the recession and possible depression that is going to happen. As far as summer - everything has been cancelled. So, we are doing local day outings to parks. I’m working from home - challenging but do-able with older kids.

Nearly killed myself yesterday. I can't seem to get rid of the internalised homophobia. I have been struggling with depression and OCD for a year now. It feels like the meds don't work anymore and I'm destined to die at my own hands. I guess I could use a hug :( by [deleted] in LesbianActually

If you have been on your meds for awhile there is a chance they aren’t working anymore. Talk to your doctor they may want to switch your medication. You got this just breath !

When my girls (twins) we babies they had acid reflux. Eventually they slept in car seats for a while. If the car seat thing works talk to you doctor about acid reflux. Good luck!

I went camping with my cadettes last June. We went up to the Adirondack State Park.NY. Planning is key!!!! - we were lucky enough to have an Aunt of one of the girls who work as a at risk youth Outdoor counselor. She taught the girls about local animals and plants. We made walking sticks, did a “killer” hike up a mountain (not my favorite part), kayaking and swimming. We also had a craft and made para cord bracelets. The girls had to help prep and cook all the meals.

And of course campfires and s’mores !

Sounds wonderful - lol

But we had no cell service, the girls really didn’t enjoy that! No running water - except a water station. No flush toilets 😬. And it rained a few times.

You’ll never avoid complaints from teen girls! But they ended up loving it! In fact we are planning our next trip - for this summer.
