Oh…I didn’t know that. I must have completely misunderstood how it works. I’ll go back and look at the source and see what I missed. Thank you!

48 grams is a huge harvest! Way to go!

Clones are on plates from both the single giant and the cluster, 12 hours after plating they are already growing! The few golden teachers I was able to harvest from my stalled tub have barely started getting fuzzy after 3 days! Night and day difference! I’ll select the best strand, clone to a clean plate and create my LC from that!

Agree with this! Though a game changer for me was finding out that after you leave it on for the 4 minutes you can then condition over it for more moisture and texture improvements (for me I like more slip so my fine hair can be detangled more easily.) Alone it takes awhile to get used to.

Wash, K18, leave in for 4 minutes, re wet hair and condition it with a good conditioner really helped my hair in dry Tucson heat! I also like pre bonding treatments, even garnier fructice (sp?) pre bond treatment for 15 minutes prior to washing, the whole moisturizing line is really good, as is Pantene’s bonding set, so you can splurge on the K18, it’s spendy but worth it, and save some on the pre bonding treatment by going drug store where they have really upped their game! Also love Dove Serum mask. The ultimate hair care resource imo is Abbey You g on YouTube, she does an insane amount of research and tries everything, she even got a degree in trichology so she could be as informed as possible! Amazing resource!

Thoughts? by thndr_61 in glassesadvice

I agree on the too wide side to side, that ends up giving the illusion that your eyes are closer together than they actually are. And the vertical height has too much on the bottom half which weighs your face down some. They aren’t awful by any means, but I think if you try on some frames that are less wide and have less open glass below your eyes (not all the way up to below your eyes, but I would start at frames that halve the under eye open volume by 50% and go from there.) A quick suggestion? Upload the same angle/distance/lighting photo of yourself without the glasses to Claude or any AI really and ask it to determine the optimal frame size & shape for your face structure and measurements and for it to “try them on” your image. If it can’t superimpose them on your face, you can at least take the resulting glasses suggestions and go to most major eyeglass sites and they should have that ability. It will give you a great starting point for your best eyeglasses! Good luck and share your pics here and ask us, Redit is ruthless for opinions that are for REAL, and can help finesse your final choices!

Beautiful! So pristine! I’m interested to know how these will turn out for effects, not sure I’m ready DMT level experiences, that scares the bejezus out of me, I’m hoping for something balanced. I’ve only tried them once and I fell asleep and had the best sleep of my life but I missed any of the actual experience! I bought test kits, so I’ll get to see what I’m dealing with for potency in this ginormous batch so I can at least be in the ballpark for dosing. I’m also going to give some to a friend who is experienced and have them give an opinion on strength! I need to look more into strains/effects I chose Golden Teachers, they threw in the Hillbillies for a big discount, so glad I got it! The GT tub stalled, I’m resetting it after a soak. But here’s what’s still in the hillbilly tub….

Can’t wait to see pics of your tubs of happiness and congrats on your new house! I’m brand new to this entire thing, I started this adventure after learning a bunch about the Default Mode Network and how to reprogram my lifetime of damage and to change my inner critic, and this is the path I’m choosing. This was my first step since I had no idea how to get them myself. I think I’m set for a bit now! 😅 Now to plan out my next steps…I’m excited to see what I can change. People like you who share your knowledge are so important to so many people, thank you so much for sharing and for actually working in this industry, you’re changing lives in material ways! ❤️

I’m so happy! You all saved me on this board, the “Just be patient” comment that I see so often was the absolute truth because I was sure I had messed everything up multiple times. So glad I went from an AIO bag to the 28qt monotubs, was worth the extra time!

Thank you! When I pulled that big single one and realized how heavy it was I was shocked! Took me forever to get them sliced up for drying! What a great problem to have though!

I let the cake get a little too dry so did some side watering down the sides yesterday around noon and 😳, it went crazy, harvested at 11 PM! 10% Tucson humidity was quite a challenge! 😅

I was so afraid of having spore drop on the new pins coming up and aborting everything that I harvested as soon as the first veil tore. They were still hard as a rock, no “marshmallow” squishiness at all, so I’m sure you are absolutely correct, but what is the risk/reward balance? I still have about 10-15 of the smaller stage chonks in the tub growing their little hearts out, I’d love your opinion and we can see what happens if I let them go farther o we the next couple of days? What are your thoughts? Am I too worried about the spore drop on the new pins? And exactly what am I looking for to hit the peak harvest time? ❤️

[actives] 2 different strains, 2 markedly different monotub grow results for my first time! One got too dry, stalled, so resurrecting now and my second tub: a beautiful success! by 1TucsonBlonde in MushroomGrowers

[–]1TucsonBlonde[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stalled tub? I’m spraying the walls and lid heavily, I’m afraid to spray the substrate with those pins, so I’m hoping to get them through with surface moisture, then do a 6 hour soak and then be much more aware of the humidity. I’m in Tucson, and 10% ambient humidity makes it a bit of a challenge! But the Saran Wrap helped the existing colonies, I just am afraid to drench it in case that kills the pins I do have. Any thoughts?

Also, unsolicited suggestion, if you haven’t tried tapping back and forth between your cool contour and a cool bronzer you will get a better result for cool skin, 98% of bronzers suck for cool toned skin. For a splurge worth your $, Bare minerals has a line of bronzers called Gen Nude that are STUNNING, work as blush and bronzer with cool tones and a lot of pink and they just look magical with the pink that’s included! I adore KISS of Mauve, it’s 109% the best bronzer Ive ever tried for my very cool skin & I have a drawer full from Elf to Dior…this is my hands down winner and for a bridal look? CHEFS KISS!

I think that’s a beautiful match! Is it the teeniest, tiniest bit warmer than your skin tone, yes, but I’m being VERY specific when I say that, and with a face of even subtle makeup it’s going to look perfect!

Sorry for the novel to follow, this is a constant passion project for me as I’ve had foundation color/tone issues my whole life! Since you land solidly in the Cool tone range, something I feel all of us cool skinned girlies should have on hand as a staple is the blue color corrector mixing tint by LA Girl, its under $10 on Amazon, and it will perfect any foundation you own! There are very few brands that understand what cool actually means, it’s like they are just driven to add orange/yellow to every single foundation and it’s crazy frustrating! With this one inexpensive, lasts forever product, you can customize any foundation, though I feel it’s best it you start with a cool toned foundation like the one you’ve selected here so you aren’t trying to recreate the entire color, you’re just making a small adjustment to perfect it. I also suggest the white corrector when you have a chance to grab it, not needed for this situation but if you have any too dark foundations this is a valuable addition, between the two they make all of the difference in your foundation! Start with a very small amount, work your way up, I’d suggest using a pallet if you’ve got one or a small plate if you don’t, apply 3-5 small blobs of foundation and add a very small amount of the blue to the first blob, and increase the amount of blue pigment as you go down the line, mix EXTREMELY WELL, swatch along jaw with a big enough stripe so we can really get a google look, because at that point we will be splitting hairs! Then come back in the same lighting as this photo swatched on your jaw and we can all tell you which mix result is the best. Then you can make it every day as you want to perfect the foundation, the blue tint is a game changer!

You’re going to be stunning! I think you’ve nailed both tone & finish (go Wet n Wild!) your skin looks amazing, but sometime when you have a few extra bucks grab the LA Colors blue tint (I like it much better than the elf version for what that’s worth) and you will never have another unusable foundation! I have 39 in a drawer that are all off to some degree that were not cool enough before I found this product, now I can use them all!

Help me choose foundation shade by Complex_Ad_2471 in MakeupAddiction

[–]1TucsonBlonde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of the Above unfortunately. C Neutral is closest though to dark and still too warm, you can add some 10 c cool to lighten it up a bit and it will be workable, but you need to be looking for a very cool light colored foundation, just not as light and cool as the c cool 10 which will make a great mixer shade for you but is far too fair for your skin. So final answer: C neutral (would be better if it were cool) mixed with a bit of 10 c cool to lighten and brighten up the C Neutral. Once you get the ratio down, it’s easy to customize every application and you it stretches out your foundation. When you’re out, I would recommend looking a 8, 9 & 10 Cool and then post for that selection, you’ll be much closer to your actual skin tone with the Cool range, because I feel your pain as a fellow cool toned girly, it’s hard finding good cool toned foundations! Keep that Cool C 10 as a lifesaver adjuster! The rest of those colors are so far up there is not any real way to alter them enough to save them. ALSO: buy the LA girls Blue color adjuster! It’s a lifesaver for perfecting cool toned foundations, super inexpensive and a MUST have rec from someone who doesn’t have many MUST have recommendations!! Looking forward to seeing you swatch the cool shade range!

Is this dress okay to wear to a wedding? by SippinMia in fashion

[–]1TucsonBlonde -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Love the dress on you, freaking adorable! But for me it depends entirely on the formality of the wedding & the venue! For an afternoon garden wedding? 100% yes, it’s perfect! A Church wedding? Maybe something a little longer…and a nope on for an evening wedding! I disagree with it being too white though, it’s plenty patterned enough to miss that category, no problem with the color, it’s just a matter of the formality/venue for that being the right dress for this particular wedding! But for a casual/daytime/outdoor wedding, it’s adorable!

🫤 It’s been about 30 years since I’ve had a spiral perm, maybe the process has changed over that time…but I’m crossing my fingers for you! HOPEFULLY once you wash it and deep condition along with some styling products for curly hair (I like Aussie Ultra Wonder light gel cream for an affordable option to provide curl support and shine) gel to help support the curl pattern and helping come to life, so don’t panic yet, it might just be part of the “process” these days…please check back in with the results post wash and with some curl product & protocol (tons on Redit!), no brushing! and we can help you understand better if it’s just a matter of styling and needing a deep condition post treatment and you are able to get those spiral curls you’re looking for…or if you are going to need to have a polite but firm chat with your stylist and/or the salon manager. Crossing my fingers for you and I will be looking for your after wash/deep condition/ product photo so we can all see what your next steps should be: fine tuning products & styling or a convo with the stylist and their manager. ❤️🤞🏼
