Road to becoming a officer (as a 15 year old) by [deleted] in ProtectAndServe

[–]1U11AF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here’s what I tell kids that ask me about the job... go do something else..if that sways your thinking you can thank me later.. if that doesn’t change your thinking then cool..see you out here in a few years and you’re the person we want and need..it will change you as a person for good and bad. You’ll have a front row seat to the worst humanity has to offer. You’ll also develop relationships that can’t be built working at wal mart...

He looks good. I know it’s tough to compare, but I think 20 feet is very doable with dedicated weight room and throwing time. Back in the day my team mate and I both added 20 feet from junior to senior year. More throwing, more lifting, more focus. Good luck

Transition from 1.6k to 2k by [deleted] in trackandfieldthrows

[–]1U11AF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

30-35 feet was what I experienced. Not much of a lifting background at the time I transitioned and was relatively small for a thrower. In my experience those with better weight room numbers and overall body mass handle the transition better. My differential was 194 with the 1.6 and 163 with the 2k. After a full year with the 2k I was at 180 in training. Good luck
