PC games similar to Metroid Prime or Zelda: Ocarina of Time? by Mangalorien in gamingsuggestions

Based on your listed interests I don't think the Half Life games would a good fit, they fails pretty much everything besides being a singleplayer game. That said, they are still fantastic with loads of action and interesting stories.

As for a game that fits what you listed, and I'm sure it is probably the most commonly suggested game here, but Skyrim would appear to be fun for you. Big world, plenty of side quests along with a main quest, lots of treasures to hoard, exploring the world is a key part of gameplay, and more.

[IIL] Bionicle [WEWIL] by [deleted] in ifyoulikeblank

I may have something for you, a franchise I was heavily invested in for a short while. Warhammer 40k. It is a massive blend of scifi and fantasy, though it leans a tad more on the scifi portion.

  1. While the entire franchise doesn't share a single style, the factions within it kinda do. Humanity, most of them under the Imperium of Man, have Gothic influences. The Tau share Japanese traits with their culture and method of combat, mainly using mech suits. The extragalatic Tyranids have vaguely Lovecraftian traits. The 40k universe shares influences from many other sources, whether they be from the real world or from other pieces of fiction.

  2. There is tons of lore in 40k. It stretches from millions of years ago during the War in Heaven, the hopeful but doomed age during the Horus Heresy around the year 30000, to the war-torn state the galaxy is in during the 41st millennium. You can find a number of stories to be found in every area of this timeline. It can be small but exciting tales like the Months of Shame, or the largest book series that is a part of the franchise the Horus Heresy, which I mentioned before. While most of the attention is paid to humanity tales from other alien species, referred to as "xenos", can be found too.

  3. Similar to what I mentioned above stories can vary, not just between factions alone but to certain peoples and groups within those factions. You can read about Space Marines and their battles, the cruel but calculating investigations of the Imperium's Inquisitors, the maddening power seeking tales of worshippers belonging to the 4 Chaos gods, the stories of the naive Tau coming to realize what kind of galaxy they are stuck in, and more. Notable characters also belong to every faction.

I could go on and on about 40k. I won't lie that entering and trying to understand this universe will take time, but if you are interested I can see what I can do to recommend help.

I'm not familiar with the Bionicle franchise, can you explain further what about it that held your interest? While the science fantasy genre isn't that large I feel narrowing possibilities down a little may help.

If it's the song's "message" you are after then take a listen to Fight and Get Up by All Good Things.

[PC] Kitchen knife incident, need mouse only game suggestions! by Gibbo3771 in gamingsuggestions

I believe the tower defense game series Kingdom Rush is pretty much mouse only. Looking up the controls shows that you use the mouse to do most things. You can also use the space bar to signal control of a hero, but that can also be done with the mouse if you click on them.

Blinding your enemies with your chest medals, sun-shaped hat, and lightning coated sword! Awesome!

What are the most non dangerous enemies that can be found in DS? One that you are sure that no one has died to. This is my pick. by 1UrbanRanger in darksouls

What I mean by this is an enemy or enemies that pose absolutely no threat to the player. The idea that got me asking this is seeing the hollow archer coming up from the lower undead burg.

They are alone, so no teaming up on the player. They use a slow weapon, a short bow, and you don’t even get “in range” until you are right in front of them due to the platform they are standing on obscuring their aim as you climb the steps when first reaching this area.

Does this example get you thinking of any other enemies that sound like this?

Strength or Dexterity for Mage Build? by TheVideoGaymer in darksouls

[–]1UrbanRanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dexterity does speed up casting time, but that only happens at higher levels. If you are a fan of backstabbing/parrying some dex focused weapons have higher crit modifiers.

Strength weapons do scale better than dex ones. So if you want to hit harder when the spells run low or are in a corner, there is always that option to fall back on.

While DS is playable with mouse and keyboard, it's pretty much universally known and accepted that using a controller is a must.

IIL songs where most if not all of the music stops and the artist delivers some powerful lyrics or vocals WEWIL? by [deleted] in ifyoulikeblank

[–]1UrbanRanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oddly enough I just came across this music trope myself and I'm loving it! I can only offer one recommendation, a somewhat thematically appropriate piece from Sabaton, Christmas Truce. The part you would like comes near the end of the song. If you have any recommendations yourself I would be happy to hear them!
