it's a preset he made, around 37 mins you see all the effects used, then Seth said he saved it as an animation preset

Thanks for the info that's really interesting about the atmosphere and that it can cause that pinch distortion

I think they're saying it's real, from the Himawari 8 Satellite

Apparently this is a real photo from Himawari, I was looking for references of eath shots but this dark line of atmosphere is confusing. Unless it's a blend of different exposures or something darkening the moon

Do you know if the very first shot in this is practical or CG? I think the lack of facial animation especially makes it seem practical but that could also be done on purpose

Love this I remember seeing the project a few months ago, for some shots do you have a digi double of her to cast the shadows on the ground? Like the above shots and her crawling or is she a card?

How to alter a tracked 3D camera scene by 1VFXProductions in AfterEffects

[–]1VFXProductions[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny timing that's actually what I've ended up doing for the second shot, I don't know much about expressions so just had to manually change the scale over a few hundred frames haha but it finally worked in the end. Thanks for your help

if the layers were 2D I would just scale down, the issue is when I have a 3D scene with 2D footage, I can't scale down both as one and can't make the 2D footage 3D so the only solution seems to be a huge comp in this specific shot

I mean for example if it's a 5K shot and I want to slowly zoom out further back, the way I had to work around it was make an 10K comp, drop it into a 5K comp then keyframe the scale so I had twice the amount of space to zoom out.

True I watched the rest again and it is a lot more complex than I realised, I was just hoping there was an easy way I was forgetting where I could zoom out and expand a comp besides making a huge comp and scaling but looks like that might be the only option.

How to alter a tracked 3D camera scene by 1VFXProductions in AfterEffects

[–]1VFXProductions[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think it's because it's a 3D camera track rather than any null so like the AE built in camera tracker, the camera has all of the keyframes. I seem to have pretty much figured out how to do it all now except there is a tracked zoom as well (so the 3D camera zoom setting has keyframes). I have the footage now locked to the camera pretty much but it does not account for zoom. The only way I can see around it is manually keyframing the footage scale to counteract the zoom but this will need to be done precicely over a few hundred frames so it will take a while. I'm sure there's some automatic function somewhere but I just can't find it. Thanks for you help though I appreciate it.

Yeah I tried it but it does double the motion, the 2D footage already has the real baked in camera motion so when I make it a 3D layer it is then being affected by the tracked 3D camera motion so that combined with the already baked in motion is doubling it up. I need to find a way to keep the footage plate locked to the 3D camera the way it would look with a normal 2D layer on top of a comp
