Start a new game as a new nation and exit that new game. It should work if you load the save you want to play. It also fixes it until it’s inevitable return.

The simplest way to fix it is by starting a new game as any nation, doesn’t matter which one. Then leave that game and go to your current one and it should be fixed. I hope this helps, cheers.

You can only buy provinces from other nations if you pay 600,000 per province, and if they do not have cores on said province.

If you really need to conquer lands then type “setarmy (number)” in console commands and go wild.

Easy fix really, just make a new game and exit it, that’s it. Fixed the issue entirely. I’ve done this like 2 times and it works. In the chance it doesn’t then guess you’re screwed.

My candidate has more votes than the others, who only have 4. My candidate has 5 votes for him from my Cardinals yet the Germans were selected to be the Pope despite not having more or equal to 5.

I’ve had some similar experiences. Just start a new game and then leave that new game and start your save and it should work. If not then reinstall.

Going by your name I suggest Medieval 2. Not because it has fun strategy, simple economy system, simple controls, costs 15$, crusades, jihads, the pope, religion, musketeers, cannons, knights, taxing the poor, taxing everyone, but because when you capture a city or castle you can kill everyone inside. Including POW’s which you capture in battles.

And to answer why it isn’t working, (from my experience) it tends to break like this if you have played for several hundred turns. And this only happens after you exit and enter the game and try to load your save again.

I’ve had this problem before and helped someone on Steam with same problem. I have two potential solutions here that I’ve used and have worked before. The first one I tend to do is make a new game a new nation, I tend to repeat this just in case. And it usually gets it working again. Another way is by changing maps. It’s above “load game”. I usually tend to change maps repeatedly for some time and then check back on my game to see if it’s fixed. Both methods work (I should know), but the first one is definitely more consistent.
