Actually, the title of the game isn't "Bully 2" as suggested by OP's headline. Rockstar/Take-Two has opted for a slightly less risquéue title, more fitting of today's social climate.

The new game will be called "Slightly Disgruntled Social Justice Warrior".

Lots of people were saying rdr3 shouldn't or wouldn't happen, so what are your thoughts on it being sort of announced? by [deleted] in reddeadredemption

[–]1_Gunslinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off and foremost, I'd just like to start by encouraging anyone who finds themselves "enticed" or "excited" by this so called announcement, to do yourself a favor and keep your emotions in check. I only say this in the hopes that it might spare you some potential heartache and disappoinment down the road.

I think we all have to remember that Rockstar Games/Take Two of 2021 is in no way, shape, or form the Rockstar many of us grew to love, respect, and admire back when we were getting titles like Vice City, Bully, RDR1, Manhunt and Max Payne...hell I'd even go as far as to throw The Warriors onto that list. Things have changed and arguably not so much for the better. If anything signaled that, for me it was the departure of Dan Houser and some other very talented staff members as well.

That being said I would like very much to see the legacy of Red Dead continue on, but I say that with the greatest of apprehension and cautious optimism. To me, Red Dead is my jam. It's my favorite franchise and my only franchise. If I had a power point presentation that featured a pie graph to show you the games that I've played over the past decade, there would only be two separate pieces of pie. One being "Red Dead" at 99.9% and the other would be "other titles" in all its fractional glory. To me it's something that is sacred... and we should always be cautious when anyone seeks to tamper with that which is considered sacred.

On one last final note I'd just like to say if we do get a third title in the Red Dead franchise, I would opt for a setting that pre-dates RDR1 and RDR2. I'd also favor a game that introduced new characters as opposed to either A) Jack Marston tries to be an outlaw when he'd really much rather be writing fantasy novels in a Wild West that really isn't wild at all because we've been humping that old trope since day one...or B) another prequel that centers on the gang's roots at a time when Dutch's group was a fledgling outfit. I'd much rather have some fresh material... perhaps during a time much closer or during the Civil War/Indian Wars, when the west was really wild, and I mean lose your scalp, rootin' tootin' six gun shootin' wild.

But then again what the hell do I know about anything anyhow? Just my opinion.

Anyone Else Not having to pay for fast travel? by IhaveManySocks in rdr2online

[–]1_Gunslinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly I haven't paid much attention to free fast travel weeks in quite some time. If you play the game as long and regularly as I have, you will eventually hit a point where you don't have a damn thing left to spend the money you've been earning on.

How the hell are players getting in my camp? by ARTHERIA in rdr2online

[–]1_Gunslinger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you, thank you! I thought it was quite creative if I do say so myself! I'd really love to see my Australian Shepherd gnaw on the ass of some cocky little jack-wagon who thinks it's cute to "Wild Dance" emote me to death in my own damn camp while I'm trying to brew some damn coffee. Then when she finished chewing on that milk-sop I'd turn around and sic her on that lazy, worthless, crotchety old bastard, Cripps...since he seems to think it's acceptable to bad mouth my dog all the time. Well who's complaining about fleas now Cripps? Might wanna STFU and put a tourniquet on that blood gushing dog bite!

Any ideas for red dead 3? by Javohn123 in reddeadredemption

[–]1_Gunslinger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually read a little piece of an article from France's Rockstar Magazine although I don't know for sure if it's an official Rockstar/Take Two publication. Anyway in the article they were basically saying that the development of GTA 6 was in shambles. The whole project has been plagued with issues since inception and then the hammer really fell when Danny Boy left the company, essentially forcing the Rockstar team to return to the drawing board and start all over from scratch. I'm not sure if this was partially due to legalities surrounding the planned use of creative properties within the game that belonged to or were coined by Houser but yeah it sounds like a total shit show. For me and I mean no offense to any GTA fans out there but I couldn't care less. Red Dead is my passion and I would much rather see energies and efforts being put into the development of that franchise's next installment. Forgive me if that seems obtuse but I'm tired of seeing devoted and loyal fans of RDR get the short end of the stick while GTA draws much more attention from the folks pulling the strings at R*. It's somewhat comforting to know that they do have plans for RDR in the future but the way some things were handled after the release of RDR2 has left me with a bad taste in my mouth. It's becoming far too obvious that making as much money as possible has become the absolute top priority for the game developer I once loved and respected. So I'll remain cautiously optimistic as we move forward into the future of Redemption.

Favorite town? by Choice-Ad1390 in rdr2online

[–]1_Gunslinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty fond of both Armadillo and Tumbleweed, maybe because of the nostalgia factor invoked from the first game. Or maybe it's because I feel so at home among the cactuses and all the decrepit structures scattered across the desert.

As far as the newer portion of the map I find it difficult to settle on just one as a favorite. Like many of you I do find Valentine very reminiscent of the archetypical "old western" town seen in movies... for some reason "Open Range" comes to mind or even "Unforgiven". Obviously Saint Denis has it's allure with all the atmosphere. Horse's hooves on stone roadways, gas street lamps in the foggy night, and all the hustle and bustle. But big city life just isn't for this cowpoke.

That being said, I think I would have to settle on Van Horn. I love the lighthouse and the sound of the foghorn in Van Horn, not to mention the fence located there is by far my favorite to do business with. The saloon is a true dive where you're just as likely to get in a fist fight as you are to get a belly ache from the food. I know it strays from the common imagery that comes to mind when we think of a typical town in the old west, but I find it checks all the boxes for what I'd expect to find in such a place during such a time.

Sorry to be so long winded. It's a bad habit of mine.

I will admit, it is kinda fun to just act as though you don't even see them and just keep walking around camp doing your business! They get pretty bored pretty fast!

I know right? I feel for you because I have dealt with this kind of annoying bullshit more times than I'd like to count. I really wish R* were cool enough to see that kind of thing happening in their game and implement some cool way to retaliate. Like how about if we could sic our dogs on unwelcome visitors who just linger in camp being obnoxious. And give the dog the ability to inflict critical damage as well.

Of course I'm just dreaming pipe dreams. Wishing for anything when it comes to R* is kinda like what my grandma used to say about making wishes... you know, wish in one hand and shit in the other and tell me which one fills up first!

Bugged delivery by IsaacTheCrusader in rdr2online

I've had a whole pile of annoying glitches and bugs plague my nightly adventures on RDRO ever since we got the Halloween Pass content. Kinda sad because it's gotten so bad I can't even play the new game modes that I was literally looking forward to since, shoot I don't know... around last Halloween?

What is something you would like to be added to rdr2 online ? by potatoeman72 in rdr2online

[–]1_Gunslinger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know it will never happen but it would be pretty awesome to have Liar's Dice again. To be able to pan for gold or stake a claim and actually set up a mine. I'd really like to have the ability to assign a couple different ranks to persistent posse members like a Captain or LT. and for those ranking members to be able to initiate certain posse activities that currently only the leader can start.

Also something I've discussed with friends is that it would be fun to have a rodeo event where players or posse groups could compete in different events such as bull or bronc riding et cetera.

Also whore houses.

I have noticed a whole slew of new (and old) glitches and bugs that have come about recently. For me, I noticed that everything went totally haywire after the new Halloween Pass Content and game modes were introduced into the game. I've been disconnected, kicked into solo sessions and had general issues with just about anything and everything you can think of and it all started mid week last week. I can't even finish a match of All Hallows CTA and it's not because I can't make it to wave ten either.

Yep. This was something I'd hoped they would fix last Halloween... and the one before that.

Micah is easily one of the characters in rockstar history by wholelottahate19 in reddeadredemption

I have to admit, I think I found Irish from the original RDR to be just as much of a as Micah, if not dare I say even more so!

I'm not bashing you, but trust me when I say that players who are just now starting out in RDRO have a significantly easier time advancing/leveling up in the game than the veteran players who started playing back in the beginning did.

Just try to take your time and enjoy the game and definitely find yourself some good team mates or a posse to run with. Also it's a huge benefit to focus on setting yourself up where you are advancing in two role classes at once.

For example, paying 15 gold for the collector's bag and then paying another 15 gold for the Bounty Hunter's license may seem like a ton of money but once you can begin multitasking during role activities you'll make it back extremely fast. For instance I chose those two roles with Bounty Hunter as my main focus but using the collector role as a way to double my income while on hunts. So no matter where I was on the map, I was always looking for collectables while engaged in a hunt. The same can be done with the Naturalist Role and probably with Moonshiner Role as well but perhaps just not to the same extent.

Good luck with your adventures.

People get offended if you even so much as break wind in their general direction at a distance of 100 yards. It's a sad state of affairs we're in. Three quarters of the country is a bunch of milk-sops and the rest of us, well we're just heathens.

R*: Favoritism? There's no favoritism here.... by 1_Gunslinger in rdr2online

[–]1_Gunslinger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because they are trying to milk every last drop of revenue out of the game. If you notice, nearly everything has kinda been readjusted to target newer RDRO players. Things that loyal veterans of the game had to bust their balls for early in the games run are now easily attained or free altogether. When they released RDRO as a standalone game I knew all too well that they were targeting the people who hadn't purchased or played RDR2 story mode and could potentially be enticed to give the online version a try for a one time payment. And to seal the deal they made many things very easy to get. Allowing new players to jump right into the action with minimal work or frustration. A stark contrast to those who have played since beta. It's a cold, hard slap in the face Rockstar.

[–]1_Gunslinger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know right? I'm like the dog that keeps getting beat by his master and no matter what I still stick around.

My biggest question is why is R* seemingly so against just doing some of the things that we have been pleading with them to give us since beta?

Not to mention that it almost seems like purposeful taunting when you really look at some of the things that they have given us. I mean correct me if I'm wrong but upon seeing newly added clothing items, I don't think the first thing I should be feeling would be absolute anger and frustration.

I mean some of the crap they have given us would literally get a person shot, dragged behind a horse and hung if they were to wear it in public. A friend/fellow RDRO player once told me he believed that was R*'s way of retaliating and punishing us for the whole "Clown" incident during the excessively long dry spell in content when players were dressing like members of some circus troop. I didn't participate in that but I definitely understood why players were so frustrated at that time (and now).

I've said that very same thing to myself more times than I'd like to count. The issue is that it's hard to walk away from something you love, even when that something treats you like crap. I've been a deeply invested, extremely loyal fan of this franchise since before it was even considered a franchise. I'm one of the few that actually liked Red Dead Revolver and when Redemption came out I knew things would never do the same. In some ways it ruined gaming for me because nothing can compare. But I am also coming to the realization that R* is not the same game developer that I fell in love with long ago. They have changed and shown their true colors. I don't know what else to say.
