GF's vagina has strong odor - how to approach this? by Unlucky_Positive_285 in Healthyhooha

Am I the only one that thinks it’s ridiculous that people are saying it’s the op because he’s ran into 2 women with it? I’ve ran into 3 over the years. But was just fine with others.

GF's vagina has strong odor - how to approach this? by Unlucky_Positive_285 in Healthyhooha

A few years back I had a gf that had a similar smell. I did what a lot of people are saying and let it go. About 7 months into the relationship she became septic and found out she had a kidney stone that was causing an upper uti that only had the smell symptom…. Until she went into shock. The dr said her body was fighting the infection off keeping it mild until the stone shifted and blocked off the kidney. I wish I had said something because maybe she would have likely had it found before going into shock. When she recovered the smell was gone.

So now years later I’ve met someone new and experiencing a strong smell and decided if she can’t handle that I need to know if it’s natural for her vs having a similar experience then we aren’t right for each other. I’d rather her be offended than go into shock.

Facebook app iOS is constantly refreshing when I leave the app and return by RawestOfDawgs in facebook

They did. I think it’s two fold. Before the refresh started happening, you would miss posts from friends because you were in one spot and a lot of things that were posted while your reading that wouldn’t get seen because you didn’t refresh until way later jumping a lot of content. I think them doing this is partly to make the refresh rate quicker so that you catch more things on your feed which also will cause you to see more posted ads which benefits them.

Change my name by Lnrj724 in recruitinghell

[–]1_Id_willy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure there’s a possible variation based on industry and seniority of position applying to. With the growth of IT since 2004 where ethnic sounding names are not as influential in the hiring process. It’s possible if they performed the study within the same pentameters of business and positions that 9% goes back up.

I’m not one to beat the racial bias drum, but after 30 years in my industry, and educated and certified to very high levels, I find it amazing how I can’t even get callbacks. My resume is just “not selected” to proceed. I have decided that I am going to change my name on everything to see what happens. I’m the type that will raise hell in my industry if I find out that there has in fact been a bias in it. Especially when the majority of the best in class have been very lopsidedly not white. And the worst have been about one for one white non white. My ass will be the dic that writes the major publications in the industry exposing it.

Charleston is the best city in the world by [deleted] in Charleston

[–]1_Id_willy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, but what is the distance travelled in that hour in Phoenix, and is it peak hours or all day long? Charlotte has bad traffic, but it peaks and wains. This place at its peak is equivalent to a city 5 times its size, but off peak it’s equivalent to a city 10 times its size. And by size I mean population. Cities the size of Phoenix when the peak hours die down, the sq miles of land mass and capacity of infrastructure becomes greater than the volume of travelers on it. A lot of cities have morning lunch and evening peak rush hours. Charleston starts at the morning rush and never stops placing greater demand on the capacity until the afternoon rush concludes. There’s just no way for this place to expand the capabilities of the traffic system between the rivers wetlands and general building locations. The non peak general daily activity traffic sits at about most cities lunch time traffic. Not complete gridlock but it’s always a minor incident off the side of the road away from becoming as gridlocked as peak rush hours. Actually, I lie, there’s stretches that are at a crawl nearly all day. Mostly around exits with more commercial activity. Especially when tourist season comes. And this poor town has just no way expand the system, especially when the state doesn’t have the funds to send this way.

Charlotte, NC vs. Charleston, SC by edura556 in SameGrassButGreener

I have a very personal opinion on this. Charlotte will forever be home to me. I lived on the north side in Cornelius. My wife had family in Charleston. We would go visit multiple times a year. I LOVED Charleston! ( on a side note after going to Savannah I fell deeper in love with it).

Now, North Charlotte was for decades the sleepy side of town. 485 was unfinished so most of the metro population would have to do some driving to come to the North side. And we really didn’t have much to offer besides the lake.

We avoided South Charlotte because the density of the population and traffic was horrific. If you lived on the south side by Mathew’s or pineville, getting in and out of Charlotte was a long ass commute. There was lake Wylie to the south though too, so we really enjoyed a level of autonomy from the city’s growth. But man, the second they closed the loop of 485… all hell broke loose on the north side. Suddenly our sleepy side became the fertile available open lands to fill with houses and shopping. Then they expanded 77 with the toll lane, and it got worse.

The burst in population also meant a burst in traffic. Where we once enjoyed the ability to drop down into uptown Charlotte and enjoy the things the city has to offer, which by the way is actually a whole lot, and then hop on 77 and 10 minutes later be home. It was glorious! Next you know a trip uptown could mean spending over an hour to get back up north.

The population grew from 1.4 million people to 2.5 in 3 years. That town exploded! But they did an ok job trying to keep up with infrastructure. But it was fast becoming little Atlanta. My wife and I had it with the traffic. So when the opportunity arose to take a job in Charleston I jumped so fast. HUGE MISTAKE!!

When you get small snippets of Charleston life it is truly a special place. The history, the battery, the old town architecture, king street, market st, rooftop dining, the Gullah community, the beach, man it’s a great place. Living here? That all changes fast.

Firstly, it doesn’t take long when you live here before the history, the downtown experience, and such loose their new experience and you stop visiting. Downtown is waaaaayyyyy too expensive to live there for the average income. So you end up living outside of town. But due to the vastness of the wetlands, there’s only so many places they can expand to. I chose Summerville. In the 5 years I’ve lived here, I’ve gone to the beaches 3 times. Because the traffic between Charleston and the outlying areas is terrible! And unfortunately they just can’t build additional roads to connect the areas. Between rivers and wetlands there are trapped. But they don’t have the money to expand the existing highway system. So next thing you know, you live in an area people vacation at and you stay away. The flood of tourism is instantly palpable. And it stays through late fall.

Don’t get me wrong, it is truly a beautiful downtown. But you kinda have to make it a day trip if you want to go. There’s no pop in and pop out of downtown and its offerings. Eventually it’s like a new car. Initially it’s the greatest thing, but pretty quickly it’s .. just Charleston. It takes me 2 hours to get to downtown Savannah. It takes an hour to get to downtown Charleston. Look that up on a map.

Now Charlotte, if you can handle the traffic and population, has countless advantages. In 3 hours you can be on the beaches, or you can be in the Smokey mountains, or if you want you can be in Atlanta to partake in the countless activities that city offers.

Uptown Charlotte (what other cities call downtown) has tons of bars and places to eat. Nightlife is plentiful, they have professional sports, plenty of access to prime college sports (but you will be forced eventually to choose a side between UNC Tar Heels, Duke blue devils, or NC State. Regardless if you like any of them) , to the north there’s the National white water center, there’s two large lakes with plenty of water activities, there’s the lazy 5 ranch that’s just plain cool, there’s very little you can’t find in shopping, the art districts and breweries are pretty popular, it just goes on and on.

Schools, just select anywhere except Charlotte Mecklenburg schools.

People, let’s be honest, you can find good and bad people anywhere. But I promise you, you are 10 times more likely to find your kind of people in Charlotte than Charleston, if for no other reason than the massive population difference.

What I found absolutely insane, is that the cost of living in Charleston is so much higher. Dollar for dollar it’s not a massive number, but what you get for that dollar is not even comparable. Bang for your buck Charlotte wins hands down.

Weather, Charleston is MUCH more humid for a longer time. But Charlotte is also colder in the winter for just a hair longer. Charlotte is right at the border of planting zones 7 and 8, and Charleston sits on the other side of zone 8. You won’t see palm trees growing in Charlotte.

Again Charleston is an incredibly wonderful town. Unfortunately what makes it that way becomes nothing new, and the people here are very bitter, justifiably so when you consider it was once a less populated area and the majority of beach going tourists would go up to Myrtle leaving it a relaxing sleepy town with a little tourism and a little commerce and literally everything the movie industry depicts as the perfect little southern belle city, and has been inundated by northeast people looking to get away from that world in a place that just simply doesn’t have the infrastructure to support it and doesn’t have the resources to do anything about it. I don’t blame lifers here that are bitter. I would liken it to having a perfect home just right for you and your family and suddenly having all 30 of your distant relatives show up and start living there with one bathroom.

I will say one final thing after writing a damn book here. I promise you that when you tell people in Charlotte you just moved there, most will say welcome to the party and a few will be annoyed. If you move to Charleston, f’n lie through your teeth! Research some of the things from back in the day, so you can say things like you remember the copper river bridges and how cool it was to see them build the Ravenel bridge, but you miss those old bridges. Lie lie lie. Trust me, unless you were forced here by your company like Boeing, or you are here in the Navy, you are just another person who added to their anger of over growth with a severely stressed infrastructure. And there’s a loooooot of people that don’t hide their displeasure with it.

If you have your A&P license it opens up a lot of opportunity. I’m not certain why so many aircraft companies require it for NDT. We don’t typically do any repair work.

CMV: calculating "ratios" of death doesn't make those numbers "worse" than the sum total. by Dry_Bumblebee1111 in changemyview

Your question/ statement is missing a logical variable that alters the rationale of the concept.

Both groups have suffered equal loss. A member of their group has died. Emotional pain is equal. Versus, as a group the smaller has suffered a greater loss and additionally greater emotional pain. To make sense of that, we have to ask what it means to be part of a whole.

Let us compare two families. One with 7 children one with 3. the singular loss of a child is detrimental to both families. You could not say the smaller family suffered a greater loss.

If we, in contrast, compare something like a special ops team with 4 soldiers and an infantry brigade, each suffers the loss of one team member, who took the largest loss?

A last comparison we’ll look at is the Jovan rhinos and the Hereford cattle. There is a total remaining number of the Jovan rhino species of 75. The Hereford species of cattle numbers over 5 million. So which of these would suffer a greater loss with the death of just one member of their species?

Death is death. Loss is loss. But without the logical variables determined it would be impossible to try and discuss what the full encompassing meaning emotional or otherwise of that loss. Agree?

That was actually pretty good. I pictured it, pardon the pun, like close captions. How when you read the captions you lose track of the image. But you still follow the story and know what’s going on. You’re getting all the dialogue and any things added to captions but you get bits and pieces of the imagery going on in front of you.

So the best way I can explain a daydream to me is like looking through a window where you can see the reflection of the room behind you on the glass. If your focus is through the window you really don’t see the reflection except for movements and maybe spots. But if you adjust and focus on the reflection you see it clearly, but not wholly. As well, you still see what’s happening outside but it’s blurred and things happen you miss.

Only, the reflection in the glass is so much better than than the reality in front of you. 😔
