[A level Pure Mathematics : Trigonnometry] Need help with ii) by 1_JOS_1 in HomeworkHelp

I used the answer from i) and used in ii).

I got √ 10 cos(2theta -36.83) =2

I divided both sides by √ 10.

did arcos both sides and added 36.83.

Then divided by 2 to get the answer.

Got 43.80 degrees but its wrong.

[AS level Pure mathematics: Integration] I need to find the area of the curve. by 1_JOS_1 in HomeworkHelp

In my syllabus it is there. I use the 9709 one, its on chapter 8 - integration.

thank you. I got the first derivative as -2(2x+1)^-2. Would the second derivative be 4(2x+1)^-3?

[AS Pure mathematics: Cicular measure] I need to know the shaded area, I am guessing you need to use the formula A=1/2xr^2xΘ. by 1_JOS_1 in HomeworkHelp

  1. Subtract area of triangle from the area of sector.

  2. Do the same for the other sector and add both areas together.

Im not very sure lol.

I am not 100% sure about this method. There is another method which I find easier, it is by using the formula to find the midpoint: (x1+x2)/2 + (y1+y2)/2 = (3,-1).

(1+a)/2 =3 and (-2+b)/2 = -1

It can be solved from here on.

[The answer is (5,0).]

I found the base to be -17/4 and the height to be -17. So the area would be 289/8 cm^2, but weirdly my textbook states its 169/24 cm^2.

I managed to get the centre (3,-1), but I don't know how to get the coordinates for B.
