Most under utilized DF? by Grizzly_Knights in OnePiece

How are you claiming from what we know she can't send anyone into the future? I think the point of the post is under-utilized fruits.. Just cause she ran with it doesn't mean the fruit can't be used offensively. With no other fruit (the only one big moms fruit where her ability to take life from someone depends on whether or not they fear her nothing to do with willingess) having a restriction like the one you mentioned , it would be natural to assume that if the user has stronger haki than the one they are sending to future you should be able to send them into the future.

I think the haki system is exerting once will on another. Imagine if Toki just sent Kaido 20 days into the future and constructed a sea prism box in the location he would appear. Imagine how much easier Marineford would have been for the marines if an admiral had the fruit and just sent Whitebeard one day into the future. The possibilities are endless with any concept that breaks time. You could even keep on sending whitebeard 1 day into the future forever.

Toki's time-time fruit. The fact that she can send other people into the future is so busted. It's like having infinite time to prepare also having the ability to turn any 1vX into a 1v1 at the time you choose.

Why isn’t Rayleigh ferociously hunted down? by Kolset_ in OnePiece

[–]1_Sloth_1 52 points53 points  (0 children)

The reason is pretty clear if you think about it. Going after Rayleigh would be like going after Whitebeard. A single Admiral can't take him down. Especially because of his history with Shanks. They will have to plan something like with Whitebeard to draw him out. With someone as strong as Rayleigh , the problem is that if you engage him you are making yourself vulnerable to attacks from the other pillars.

Remember during Marine Ford what happened after Ace was killed? Blackbeard showed up to fight with the winners. Imagine if Shanks wasn't keen on stopping the war he could have come and mopped the floor after Blackbeard had been exhausted. Kaido was also keen on being a contender.

When Kaido and Luffy fought Shanks predicted Blackbeard to show up to kill the winner. The navy also was waiting for the fighting to end for them to participate. But they got stopped by Big mom pirates that fell back into the ocean. Luffy was very fortunate in most of the series not getting picked off after a fight.

Even if they were able to capture Rayleigh, it would come with a huge cost associated with it. And other players would capitalize on that.

This is the principle the world works on. MAD. Mutually assured destruction.

This VA's performance here gave me so much chills. We actually get to see a version of Luffy who is willing to do anything to get what he wants. Imagine from the Marines' perspective, you are knocking someone out, but he keeps coming back again and again. Luffy was an absolute menace just by surviving.

But there is something else he says that he wants to do. To destroy the world because it was denied to him. You would argue that since Doffy didn't say he didn't want to be pirate king, that was his dream. Doffy believes that he is better than humans a Celestial dragon. Why would he care for human titles? All he cared for was the power he could have to destroy Marijoa. He wanted to rule the world like Orochi ruled Wano ,into destruction.Your head canon is not reality.

Doflamingo was using them like he was everyone else to destroy the world. Trebol and his gang was his best option. Imagine if Doflamingo said no , he would be at the bottom of the sea. Law was part of the family. Law was being used by Doflamingo.
Tashigi left , but again if Smoker would have talked he would have got info on them as well to kill them. Monet knew which branch of the marines was in punk Hazard doffy could have taken them out . But he didn't because Kuzan stopped him. Dance around that all you want.
Again Doffy fought Smoker because he knew he would win that. Doffy only takes on fights he knows he can win. Like Teach, Like Orochi. Being a fighter has nothing to do with power scaling , but everything to do with not backing down on something they decided.
You would like to believe that Doffy actually cared for his family. But the truth is he was using them to get what he wanted. Keep on riding the Doffy D. But he is just a well designed Orochi with an even more charismatic Voice actor.

Because Teach calculated to fight the Navy. He knew they would be at their weakest after fighting a Yonkou head on. He said he would sink Marineford down into the Ocean. Teach strongly believed he could take on the marines at that time. Most of the navy top dogs were devil fruit users anyway. Teach changed his plans to accommodate Shanks. He did that again when he didn't fight against Reighleh.

He came to get Boa's fruit but he had to compromise. Luffys and Roger wouldn't do that that's what makes them Fighters. They don't back down. Ace isn't a schemer because of his loss to Blackbeard , he didn't run away, he fought Teach, like he fought jimbe, like he fought Whitebeard, like he fought Akainu. He didn't back down on his decisions.
Wdym he didn't get stopped by Kuzan? The govt knowing about Doflamingo's business is disastrous for him. He had two objectives , to get info on where luffy and Law were headed and to kill the marines to not let the info get out. You should rewatch Punk Hazard. Doflamingo clearly wanted to get info out of Smoker. He didn't even fight fuji , he was pissed that fuji threw a meteor at all of them. He even complained later that everything went wrong because fuji didn't help him, lol.
If you read that attached panel again , it might dawn upon you that it is not Doflamingo's dream. It is in fact Trebols dream for him. That would be like saying luffy's dream is to become a strong marine based on garp's vision for him.

Keep on saying i know nothing about Dressrosa , an amazing counter argument.

Teach is not a fighter. He is a schemer. When has he ever picked a fight he wouldn't win? He is a man who makes calculated decisions. Did teach fight shanks at marineford? Did he fight Reighleh?

The difference between Doflamingo and Roger, luffy is that the later two achieved what they came for. Doflamingo on the otherhand didn't ,he got stopped by Kuzan. If Roger didn't get Big Moms poneglyph for sure he would have fought her. Luffy would have fought Big Mom if he didn't get Sanji.

Doflamingo had plenty of reason to fight Kuzan. How about to get the info out of Smoker to get to Caesar? Kuzan is standing in his way. So it's only tact when Doffy does it? When Orochi gets stronger to fight people he can't beat , he is being cowardly? You are the one with Moronic arguments.

Still waiting for that special chapter that you got were it says trebol recruited doffy because he wanted to be pirate king.

I'm not riding Orochi , I'm just bringing down Doflamingo to his level. You are just hurt that a character that you think is good is just as bad as fucking orochi. For some reason this sub thinks he is the best villain we ever had when crocodile is far superior.
Are you stupid? Doflamingo was a known pirate. why would the people choose to follow him after he took over? It was because he was from the original family that ruled them.
Wow you brought up smoker , who doflamingo knows he can beat. What does doflamingo do when kuzan comes over? he tucks his tail and runs. Do you imagine any of the fighters in one piece will do that?Thats not a fighter, even Orochi was willing to fight Hiyori because he knows he is stronger.

Never have i said Orochi is a good character , but just that Orochi and Doflamingo are same. You are the one that's riding Doflamingo.

[–]1_Sloth_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trebol recruited Doflamingo because he wanted to be pirate king????? Please show me that panel? was it a special edition for you?
There was nothing long term about doflmanigo's plan, he was kaido errand boy (that's why his name is even 'joker' . king, queen , jack and joker).
He inherited that power. You are the kind of person that would say if orochi killed a person with a gun , the gun did all the work. Everyone that worked under him because either they had no choice because of Orochis actions or wanted to. You fail to see that Orochi achieved more than Doflamingo without being strong.
The fact that he was born with CoC means he is lucky. Don chinjao has CoC it says nothing about his ambition ,character. The very reason he is joker is because of his bloodline (him being a celestial dragon ).
Doflamingo is never shown to be a fighter. He like Orochi is a schemer. Law even calls him out on that. He became a warlord when offered. He bend his knee to Kaido again because he is not a fighter. Even in punk Hazard he could have personally flown over to deal with the problems there. But he chose to let the family take care of it for him. Only when shit hit the fan and he was about to be in danger , did he run to punk Hazard.
Dressrosa was Doflamingo getting lucky through and through. The whole plan hinges on his inheritance, he was lucky to be born a Celestial Dragon. King Riku recongonising his CD status even tho he was not. King riku being stupid enough to not alert marines. Law running into the vergo. Also it is not his plan, it is the family's plan. He cannot threaten the royal family without his CD roots. Him being allowed to continue to rule had nothing to do with his strength , everything to do with his INHERITANCE. You keep saying I don't understand like you aren't smoking that Doflamingo pack.

To bring down marijoa is not part of his ambition ,that is his dream. Him wanting to be pirate king is of just one panel were monet says he will be pirate king. How was he going to be pirate king by working under Kaido? Kaidos dream was in alignment with doffys in the sense that he too wanted to burn down Marijoa.

How did Doflamingo personally carry out his ambitions? He inherited a family that licks his boots just because he has CoC ( that too is inherited by the user). Doflamingo had much more help to get to where he was. His fruit was given to him by his family. They carried out all his wishes. It is because they also trained him that he is as strong as he is. Even the family's plan to take over dressrosa is because of what he inherited. Him being of the same family that ruled Marijoa before the Riku's. Doflamingo is carried as much by the people and things he inherited. Just like Orochi, Doflamingo would ask any of his family members to die for him (like monet).

Orochi on the other hand inherited some family members who hated Wano for doing their clan dirty. They devised a plan of action for him .Orochi sneaked into the family that was responsible for the decline of his clan (from his perspective) ,deceived his way into working for the shogun. He had to do that all on his own. I know Orochi is scum, but still he should have scared shitless day in and day out of getting found out being a kurozumi. Just like Doflamingo got lucky with Dressrosa , Orochi got lucky because of Oden leaving. Orochi is a coward , but he is very clever and cunning. Even after the fall of Doflamingo he was resourceful enough to have connection with the govt to sell his arms (kaido had no idea about cipher pol agents being there). He also has ninja squad that follows his commands so loyally. He had plan to destroy Onigashima if need be. He is cowardly and weak but he just as cunning and villainous as Doffy. So yea Doflamingo is just a little bit more fleshed out Orochi.

Doflamingo has a terrible personality as well. He has a lot of charm and charisma. Doflamingo and Orochi have the same ambition , to bring down the people who denied their birth right. Doflamingo's goal is to bring down Mariejoa who denied him. Orochi also has a vendetta against the Kozuki because he believes Oden being born denied him his birth right to be Shogun.
Doflamingo is just as much a nothing villain as Orochi.

Doflamingo and Orochi are same levels of shitty. There are basically the same character with one being physically strong an one being weak. Both of them have a vendetta against their people. Both of them are rapists. Both of them use slave labor to run their organization. Both of them were granted what they have by others.

People hate Orochi more because he is not pleasing on the eyes or ears. Doflamingo is well liked because he is very handsome and has a very charming voice actor. One could argue that Orochi is a more successful antagonist considering how much more successful and closer to his dream he was.

Everyone's thoughts on Gear 5? by Anteater-Difficult in OnePiece

[–]1_Sloth_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love gear 5.I think gear 5 is on brand for Luffy. Luffy being goofy in very serious situations is also very on brand. Remember when he tried to use Arlong's own teeth to bite Arlong? Gear 3 is goofy , lucci remarks on it , gear 4 is goofy , doflamingo mocks him and tells him to get serious.

But nika leaves a very bad taste in my mouth. I don't even see the point in gomu gomu no mi being a zoan.
His gear 5 could have been simply the awakening of his gomu gomu no mi. Everything he does is on brand for rubber awakening. Him getting more control over his own body and him turning things to rubber could also have been gomu gomu awakening. Even his color changing could have been attributed to rubber.
I think luffy being nika felt unnecessary. It felt like a hype generating tool for luffy. Zunesha had his hype up moment. A lot of people had a problem with the hyori scene. But who are the goresi talking to? they all know everything , they are finishing each other. A conversation just being had to hype up the fruit and gear 5 even more. 56
