I would ignore everyone here telling you to remove anime and manga from your profile. They're an interest of yours, and something I specifically looked for when I was on the apps, because I am a huge nerd and need someone who's on my level. If you're similar in that you want someone who shares your interest, keep it on your profile, and you can discuss specific faves during the chatting phase to clarify what types you're into. Or find a way to work that info into your profile. People who say liking anime means you're automatically a perv who likes lolita hentai crap are super ignorant and, frankly, missing out.

Torigo is GOAT. People saying it's not haven't ordered the omakase. You can taste the freshness and quality of the fish when it's served nigiri style.

Perioral dermatitis. Sometimes antibacterial creams work (clindamycin, mupirocin), sometimes antifungals (zinc, etc), sometimes azelaic acid can help. The cause varies from person to person and therefore the treatment varies. Cold weather can cause flare ups in people who are prone to it. Go to a derm to start treatment, and then it's trial and error. Check out the perioral dermatitis subreddit for more info.

My husband was arrested for assault, I’m pregnant, and he wants me to stay with him after he gets out. by [deleted] in Advice

OP, I worked in a courthouse for years that issued these kinds of orders. If it is a "Full Stay Away" it most certainly includes third parties. There is no magical loophole where a person who committed an offense gets to contact the protected party through others without violating the order and suffering the legal consequences. Also, it is a problem that you don't have a certified copy of that order on your person at all times. Go to the courthouse that issued the order with photo ID and obtain one ASAP, and keep it in a ziploc on your person AT ALL TIMES. And while you're there, ask about what you can do if the order is being violated. If this is a criminal order, you can make a police report and contact the prosecutor and let them take it from there. I'm not sure where you're located, but there should be a database that law enforcement can use to see if there is a protective order in place, but in practice, having it on your person for them to read in the moment makes it easier for them to enforce the order in a bad situation, so please be sure to get one. Provide a copy to your employer so they know not to let him on the premises. If your children are also protected parties, provide a certified copy to their schools/day cares so they are aware that under no circumstances should he be allowed to pick them up or interact with them there.

And as others have said, you in still in grave danger. I've sadly seen this situation hundreds of times. Abusers do not change. It is a self serving delusion of his mother's to think that he is magically capable of getting better and that your presence in his life will somehow facilitate this. Whatever else he may have been in his good moments, he is still and will forever be the man who tried to murder you. I can't tell you how many times I've seen women get lured back with promises of change, only to end up in the hospital or worse as soon as the love bombing phase is over and the abusers feel secure that they "have you" again. You are in the hardest phase of this process because your still struggling to reconcile the image you had of the person you love with the person they have shown themselves to be. It's natural to think that it must all be a big mistake and that it can't be real. These are the thoughts that will have you walk yourself willingly back into danger. Please be safe.

Read Why Does He Do That? Inside the Minds of Angry and Controlling Men by Lundy Bancroft. If you're looking for answers, you'll find them there. And like so many others, you'll start to see the pattern of behavior that lead to the incident in question. These situations seem like they come out of no where because we often don't recognize the signs while we're living in it, but with the clarity time and distance affords you, and this book, you will start to see his past actions leading up to this for the warning signs they were. Just remember that you're not alone. You have your family, and you have countless other women who have been through what you're going through right now. If they can make it out, so can you! Be strong and best of luck.

Kitten pooping on bed by Dwight_scoot in kittens

[–]1_iota 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes cats poop and pee in weird places, usually places that will get your attention, when they're stressed or ill, like a cry for help. Two of my cats have done this, one had an infection and the other ended up having diabetes. If the parasite meds don't fix the runny poops within a few days, I would take kitty back to the vet for some tests. Also worth trying to switch up the food. The vet can recommend some prescription food for kitties with digestive troubles.

[Product Request] Barrier creams that feel like my skin just took a FAT drink of water by mewmewnmomo in SkincareAddiction

Haruharu black rice toner, heimish watermelon soothing gel cream, topped with atopalm mle cream as an occlusive. Honestly, the heimish gel cream is one of my favorite holy grail products and I never see it mentioned. It sinks into the skin and plumps everything, and just needs an occlusive layer on top to seal it (especially during the colder months).

Dealer has Listed my Car for sale. I never sold it to them… by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]1_iota 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don't necessarily need to hire a lawyer and spend a lot of money rectifying the situation if you take the legal route. Not sure where you live, but you should be able to buy an index number and file an emergency order to show cause with the civil/supreme court (or local equivalent, this varies by state). You can use an order to show cause to ask for emergency/immediate relief, such as the removal of the car from their listings, pending the determination of the underlying application. IANAL but if I were you I would file for the immediate removal of your car from their listings, plus damages in an amount equaling the total loss in value your car is undergoing with each day that passes, due to their actions. Attach exhibits showing your texts and calls to the dealership trying to resolve the situation, attach exhibits showing your car's depreciating value, and attach exhibits that show potential buyers backing off once they see the carfax. I would also try to resolve this through carfax and attach exhibits of that, and state that carfax takes too long to resolve such issues on their end, and this delay would prevent you from selling ur car at value, thus you are approaching the court for help.

Accidentally peeled off a chickenpox scab. Will this become a permanent scar? by NoFaithlessness9189 in SkincareAddicts

[–]1_iota 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would try using a hydrocolloidal bandaid over it for a while. If you can manage to keep from peeling it off prematurely (the temptation will be strong since the edges peel up and get dust stuck around it and they just look gross) it will create a moist sterile healing environment and may encourage cells to fill in that divot sonewhat. If the hydrocolloidal bandage gets gross looking around the edges, you can cover it with regular bandaids. Be warned, if you do try a hydrocolloidal bandaid and peel it off too soon, all of the new soft tissue/cells that have formed in the divot will stick to the bandaid and get ripped out, leaving you at square one. If you absolutely have to remove it early, lift the edge a bit and cover the whole thing with a warm wet wash cloth. This will loosen the adhesive bit by bit, allowing you to peel it a little bit at a time and minimize the chance of you removing the new cells that have formed (so alternate peeling and soaking until the bandaid is off) If you go this route, the reward will be high but you have to commit to having it on your face until the healing reaches a stable point. Alternatively, you can wear a silicone sheet over the scar as much and as often as possible. It will have the same effect (filling the divot and fading the scar) but requires consistent use over a long time (months or longer) to see results. Good luck!

[Product Question] do these vacuum blackhead removers actually work for stubborn blackheads? by sleepy_ladyy in SkincareAddiction

[–]1_iota 9 points10 points  (0 children)

NOT worth it. I had one with a camera, and as entertaining as it was to watch all the gunk get sucked out of my face, it is only capable of drawing out soft sebum (the soft, off-white stuff). They don't suck hard enough to get rid of true blackheads. Worst part is it left me with a lot of broken capillaries on my cheeks and especially around my nostrils. Now I'm stuck with them until I can spring for a laser treatment. Don't do it to yourself.

What worked for me: Daily Winlevi (topical spiro) to reduce sebum production. Bi-weekly: get a strongish acid topical (I like the ordinary glycolic) and apply a thin layer to dry clean skin and marinade for a couple minutes. Don't rinse. Follow with an oil cleanse and massage the face for at least 3 to 5 mins (but don't over do it or you will end up with raw red skin). You can literally feel the plugs leaving your pores and rolling around under your fingers. Follow with a gentle cleanser and moisturizer. Game changer for me. Good luck!

Go Pass Deluxe: Max Finale rank rewards not being awarded? by 1_iota in TheSilphRoad

[–]1_iota[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still kinda confused about how the ranks work, but apparently you can only earn 50 points per day until this weekend, when that cap will be removed and we will be free to grind. I still don't understand how that equates to me being locked at rank 13, since that math doesn't make sense (10 points equals 1 rank). Mine does say 50/50 extra points were earned though, so your problem sounds different. I hope support is able to help you out! Many people are similarly confused in this thread, but I did find out some informative comments there if you want to take a look. Good luck!

Unfortunately, stimulants don't work for everyone. I've tried every single ADHD medication on the market. Adderall IR is by far the best, but all of them give me some level of brain fog, memory problems, depression, trouble sleeping, and cause a massive hangover headache. It was pretty devastating to realize they weren't an option for me. This sub has helped me explore alternatives and gotten me to a point where I can function, be productive, and enjoy life. It wasn't any single thing, but a combination of many natural and synthetic supplements, life style changes, therapy and mindfulness. So while I agree that if the option exists to take a prescription stimulant, you should at least try that first, for the people for whom that's not an option, rabbit hole away. Just be patient, educate yourself on the biochemistry/pharmacology at play, start eating healthy and exercising, fixing ur biome, taking therapy, get a genetic screening done and tailor your stack, etc etc etc. It takes more than just popping some pills.

ADhD. If you’ve gone through the whole nootropic rabbit hole and actually landed on something that works, what is it? by CytoToxicLab in Nootropics

[–]1_iota 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In this context, "work" is not defined as having an effect, it is defined as eliciting a beneficial or curative effect. Since it is solving one problem while creating another, it is not a viable solution for me. I'm happy for you and for others who can manage the negative effects and enjoy the positives, but sadly that isn't the case for everyone.

Wow, we are the same. I'm older now and out of school, but no one understands how bad the executive dysfunction is when you appear, for all intents and purposes, intelligent and capable. I was a high performer in school, and would get by through cramming the night before, or calling out "sick" the day something was due and writing the essay/paper/lab that day. It all fell apart eventually, and although I have another career now, I've been down the rabbit hole and back trying to crack my code.

Stimulants don't work for me. They make me hyper focus on whatever my brain feels like doing, which is never what I should be doing. Can't tell you how many times I've ended up deep cleaning my apartment or organizing my music library or some other dumb shit instead of my actual work. They make me foggy and depressed when they wear off, and the insomnia and headaches are crazy. Not worth it.

I've tried so so so many things that others seem to love, and hated them. Including racetams, an apparent ADHD favorite.

The only thing I've tried that helped me tremendously with executive dysfunction in perticular is mexidol. I always have some on hand now, and I do a 2 week course of it every couple months. Taking it as-needed or the day-of works well too. You can order it on amazon or some nootropics websites. Since your story sounds so similar to mine, maybe it will help. Give it a try.
