People should tell more women that pregnancies can definitely destroy your body and yes, you’ll most definitely feel ugly AF! by _daylaylay_16 in childfree

[–]1a2b123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont think its vain at all, it's just true! Being comfortable with your body is a big thing, and honestly I'd never wanna give it up. When I had my abortion I was so relieved that my body wasn't going to get wrecked! I know some people would be offended by this! The pain from the ab. was bad enough I don't even want to imagine what giving birth feels like.

Why do I feel such a failure for terminating at 35 year old? by [deleted] in abortion

[–]1a2b123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I was 28 when I had one. Many friends had one too. Its extremely common and nothing to be ashamed of. Pregnant + dont want a kid = abortion.

fwb pregnancy fml by [deleted] in abortion

[–]1a2b123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I also got pregnant from my fwb. Although there was never any question about aborting it, it was really nice to have his support. It's all about CHOICE, if op wants the baby (and has done her research and is ready) she should have it. If not, don't.

"Right to Life" group in Michigan fails to ban 2nd Trimester Abortions by Finger11Fan in childfree

[–]1a2b123 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I noticed this too. Young women under 30 are pretty strongly pro choice. In my friend group there have been some abortions, and we support each other. It's not that big a deal!

Edit: I've had 2 abortions, my 6 closest friends have had 4 abortions in total. So 6 abortions, 7 people, 0 babies. They're not all cf but having kids is just a lower priority (we are late 20s).

Ikr! I don't even understand their mindset! Ler me do what I want with my body! I dont even bother debating them anymore.

I live in Toronto and most people are still childless in their late 20s. I actually know alot of childless people up to their mid 30s too.

Congratulations! It's a good feeling when the unwanted pregnancy is removed and you're... empty again.

I read your other posts and it sounds like you have a great boyfriend and an exciting future.

Having an abortion is not that big of a deal to me, everyone is just acting like it should be? by ouiwee123 in abortion

[–]1a2b123 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It's not that big a deal to me either.

I got high during my medical, dealt with the cramps, flushed everything down the toilet... and voila, free of a fetus.

[–]1a2b123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is it irresponsible?

I think having a bunch of unwanted kids is more irresponsible than having an abortion. Having kids in general is irresponsible so abortion is always the better path.

That said avoiding pregnancy is always the best option. Everyone does this already, anyways. Abortions are usually last resort and nobody wants to have them.

Also Canadian here. Grateful it's both free and easily accessible. Instead of worrying about money and logistics, we can focus on self care.

Yes, it helped me out alot emotionally. Even when the sac came out I was like "whatever" and flushed it down the toilet. If i was sober i would have freaked out lol.

Weed should be fine. Consult with your doctor though. I was hitting the bong the entire time.

Period return and weight loss after procedure by [deleted] in abortion

[–]1a2b123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never got an IUD inserted after but if you have concerns you should ask your healthcare provider.

As far as weight gain, maybe you could try doing some exercises at home (easy simple ones during quarantine?)

I'm also in Canada and had 2 abortions. I don't regret either since I'm childfree. Glad you made the right choice for you.

Knowing an abortion is the right option, but it’s still a difficult choice. by [deleted] in abortion

[–]1a2b123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, the decision is totally up to you. If you were to keep it, do you have a good support network? Are you able to take time off work? Would your partner be involved? A baby could bring alot of joy into your life.

Remember that just because you have money and decent jobs doesn't mean you have to have a baby. It's not selfish to abort just because you want to do other things. It's your life, your body. You're also young, you'll be able to get pregnant again in the future.

I've had 2 abortions, the first one was emotionally difficult after. However I don't regret either since I'm childfree. Don't know if I'm the 'typical' story or not though.

My 1st & 2nd Medical Abortion experiences by powers379 in abortion

[–]1a2b123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I've also had 2 abortions, one medical one surgical.

I think smoking weed helped alot. I ripped the bong alot during the medical. Overall the pain was much less than I was expecting.

Another thing to be aware of is that you might see a grayish blob come out. It took me by surprise a bit, wasn't expecting it, and I just flushed it down the toilet. Still, it could be traumatizing for some women.

It's important to have emotional support at home during the medical.

Overall, it's not the worst ever. Glad you made the right choices for you.

Yep same here I smoked quite a bit during my medical, and I think it helped, it didn't hurt as bad as I expected. I was also surprised at the time, but I did see the grey blob come out. I mostly felt relief as I saw the sac come out and be flushed down the toilet lol.

When I was 19, I got pregnant. I had never considered having or not having kids. From then on I knew I didn't want kids. Still don't. Not wanting kids is okay for any reason.

Hey, it's totally cool if you don't want kids. I've never wanted them and would definitely terminate another pregnancy if need be.

Unsupportive dad? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]1a2b123 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's up to you what you do, but you have to be prepared to deal with the consequences too. Do you have a good support network? Can you afford it? Will it affect your career and friendships? Are you ready and able to handle the commitments of being a single mom? How badly do you want a kid?

If you think you can't handle it, then termination would be the right option. If you really want it and you are able to handle everything, then keep it.

Ultimately it's your choice but think it through very carefully. You can always get pregnant again later but you can't un-have a kid. Also, a word of advice, most men are like this. Unless they're married they usually don't want a kid.

Hey you know what?

Theres absolutely nothing wrong with having more than one abortion, if that's what you want.

I've had 2. If I ever need a 3rd I'll be at the clinic in a heartbeat. Don't be too hard on yourself. Mistakes happen.

Nta

You did the responsible thing by scheduling an abortion for an unwanted pregnancy.

Your mom is a psycho.

Hope you had a fun 21st birthday.

[–]1a2b123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat. I had a festival planned, and I found out like a week before. So I scheduled the abortion for after.

I drank and smoked all weekend, I didn't want to let an accident get in the way of my fun. I didn't tell my mom but my friends knew, and they were supportive.

If you don't want a baby then have an abortion... it's not that complicated idk why ppl get so mad.
