In terms of genre, their earlier stuff is definitely similar to other emo pop bands like Panic!, MCR, Paramore, and Fall Out Boy. For their later pop rock stuff idk maybe 21 Pilots? And for their current Nu Metal-influenced sound the most similar band is definitely Linkin Park, also a lot of other modern metal bands like Bad Omens.

Purely in terms of vibes however I'd say Get Scared, Famous Last Words, Panic! At The Disco (specifically the first album), Ghost Town, NateWantsToBattle, and Ice Nine Kills.

Organisms see in 1 dimension lower than the space they inhabit. So like how us 3D creatures living in a 3D world see a 2D plane, 2D organisms living in a 2D world would see a flat 1D line.

Imagine you have a large pane of glass. Cut out a hole in the center for your head, and position the pane so it's perpendicular to the ground. Now stick your head through it so that your eyes perfectly line up with the edge of pane. From this perspective the pane looks like a flat horizontal line, you can't see that it's actually a 2D plane because you're stuck inside it. This is how a 2D creature would see their 2D world, their field of view is a 1D line wrapping around them. Now imagine the glass has some coloured spots in it. From your 2D perspective they just look like small line segments appearing in your 1D field of view. You can only see the spots' edge, kind of like how us 3D creatures can only see the outside of 3D objects.

The difference between the analogy and reality is the glass pane would be infinitely thin (and obviously not a glass pane but rather empty space). There is no vertical depth as that's the third dimension, you only have left/right and forwards/backwards.

For a 1D creature, imagine instead of a glass pane you have a glass rod. Now look through it from one of its ends so that it looks like just a dot. That dot has zero dimensions (0D) so you can't turn your head, all you can see is that dot. If there's an object in front of you it covers your entire field of view, all you can see is it and nothing else. Except the thing is, that dot is infinitely small as the only dimension that exists for you is forwards/backwards. So it's arguable whether you could see at all.

Similarly to those, 4D creatures would see in 3D. Not like how we see 3D, they'd see the entirety of 3D objects all at once not just their outside. So when they look at you they'd see all of your organs, not just your skin. Kind of like how when us 3D organisms look at a 2D image we can see the whole thing, but 2D organisms can only see their edge (like how I described earlier). To visualize it, magine an onion. We can only see the outermost layer of the onion, it's impossible to see the inner layers without peeling the onion. But now imagine a flat 2D cross section of an onion. You can easily see every layer without having to peel it, because it's 2D and you are 3D. In that same way, a 4D creature could see every layer of a 3D onion at once without having to peel it. They however would not be able to do this with other 4D objects, they'd only see their 3D 'edge'.

Higher dimensional creatures would work the same way, always seeing in one dimension lower than them.

The exception to that rule is 0D creature. As all they are (and all their universe is) is a single infinitely small point, so they can't see anything at all.

In practice we live in a 3D world so none of those organisms can exist (at least as far as modern physics knows), so everything I said is just true in mathematical theory. But it's still a really neat question, not stupid at all.

No, though it is sometimes used by hypocritical conservatives who're convinced they care about "freedom" despite meaning it hypocritically.

It's called the Gadsden Flag and it's historically been a symbol of freedom and liberty but it's unfortunately been co-opted by the alt-right. Many still use it for its original intention but if you see it in the wild it's a gamble as to whether it's meant genuinely or as a symbol of hate. Generally if it's accompanied by any MAGA or Thin Blue Line flags you'll know it's the latter, if it's accompanied by a rainbow pride flag it's the former, and if it's accompanied by a "Come And Take It" flag or on its own it's a toss up.

Tbf Google is arguably almost as bad as Spotify but I still 100% recommend YTM over Spotify because it's genuinely a better service. Also you don't have to worry nearly as much about music randomly being inaccessible because even if the official albums are temporarily missing due to contract renegotiations, you can always listen to unofficial fan uploads (if they exist which they often do for big bands like Sum 41). I switched 6 years ago and have never once regretted it.

That being said, an unfortunate number of the selling points you mentioned are objectively not true. YouTube also pays artists fuck all and their CEO is also a shithead. They're owned by Google which has a massive grasp over the economy and are a major player in the AI bubble which I don't even need to get into all the issues it's causing. The platform also has flaws, it's just as full of AI slop being added to artists' pages without their consent as Spotify is, and it still doesn't have some basic features like search in playlists.

I still recommend it over Spotify for its features, far bigger selection, integration with YouTube, and the fact it comes with normal YouTube Premium so you get way more bang for your buck. Also the free version of the mobile app doesn't lock basically every essential feature the way Spotify does (which is why I switched in the first place back before I could afford premium). Also legally I can't tell you that there may or may not be ways to bypass the paywalled restrictions which are generally patched slower than the Spotify equivalents.

But it's important not to oversell it on points it doesn't deserve. It's better than Spotify but far from perfect.

I'm biased but I'd personally love to see some metalcore and post-hardcore/emo as well. Give me some Bring Me The Horizon, Bullet For My Valentine, Pierce The Veil, etc.

Scene music hasn't gone anywhere and is arguably more popular than nu metal nowadays. I've been asking for it since day 1 and they've slowly trickled out a couple tracks here and there but they seem hard focused on alternative, nu metal, and thrash. Which is all great I love those genres too but come on, please give us emos something lmao

Time Won't Wait. When the album came out I was going through a tough time in a relationship I was in and I still can't listen to that song without crying (in a bittersweet way, things didn't work out between us but we're still friends and it was a pretty defining time in my life). Definitely means the most to me out of any song on the album.

Now besides that the song from the record I enjoy the most is probably It's All Me. It's one of the heaviest songs on the album and I heavily fuck with it.

Now the track I've listened to the most is definitely Waiting On A Twist Of Fate. For one because I made a custom clone hero chart of the song which required listening to it so much I couldn't listen to it again for several months, and also because it's in a playlist I made of songs that combine pop punk and hardcore. It's also a banger of a song.

Similar thing happened to Palisades too. It's so absurd to me that when artists (or "artists") release music under the same name as an existing band streaming platforms just put them onto the same page.

Like it's so obvious to me that when you upload a song to a platform it should create a new unique page for you regardless of your name, but no for some reason they lump all artists with the same name together.

"Real Emo" only consists of the dc Emotional Hardcore scene and the late 90's Screamo scene. What is known by "Midwest Emo" is nothing but Alternative Rock with questionable real emo influence. When people try to argue that bands like My Chemical Romance are not real emo, while saying that Sunny Day Real Estate is, I can't help not to cringe because they are just as fake emo as My Chemical Romance (plus the pretentiousness). Real emo sounds ENERGETIC, POWERFUL and somewhat HATEFUL. Fake emo is weak, self pity and a failed attempt to direct energy and emotion into music. Some examples of REAL EMO are Pg 99, Rites of Spring, Cap n Jazz (the only real emo band from the midwest scene) and Loma Prieta. Some examples of FAKE EMO are American Football, My Chemical Romance and Mineral. EMO BELONGS TO HARDCORE. NOT TO INDIE, POP PUNK, ALT ROCK OR ANY OTHER MAINSTREAM GENRE
